How often do you visit your family in the interiors? Every weekend? Every fortnight? Once a month? Occasions only?

Do you sleepover there or do you just spend the day?

Do you like going there or are you forced by your parents?

I've been to Sharqiya (where I am from) twice in my entire life. I wasn't forced but I would have rathered staying in Muscat. The first time I went with my grandparents, they took me there to see Sharqiya. The second time with my cousins, and the only reason they wanted to go there is to see this guy who proposed to me (hahaha)!

Both times we just spent half day, visited a couple of houses and returned to Muscat.

ok I belong to two villages now :D

First, my home town .. Ibra in sharqiya. We used to go there every other month, spend the entire weekend there. We used to stay at my uncle's house until my dad had his farm. I think its very relaxing to go there form time to time. We go on first day of Eid afternoon there. I still go after I am married, but not as often.

Second, my husband village Al Mudhaibi. My husband goes there at least twice a month .. whether to settel some work there or to visit someone for funeral or so. I do go with him sometimes and ofcourse we do spend our entire eid there.

I used to sleep over for a couple of days when I was little. For now I hardly go, where I must find a solid reason for that :p

Only on occasions, my dad's uncles live in Ibra but his brothers are all in Al-Ain, so we usually go to Al-Ain in Eid and all the other holidays. My mum's side usually go to Ibra in Eid so we go there sometimes, I only remember going there 3 times and I didn't get the point cze it's the same people in Muscat but they meet in Ibra for Eid..

I go to the interior twice a year and that is during Eid. We don't spend the night there but we go for the day. We leave home at around 10 and are back by sunset prayers. What we usually do there is visit relatives homes and have lunch with them.

I like to go there only during the weekends. We still keep our own house in the middle of a beautiful green farm crowded with fruit trees.
I hate going when the reason is some family event like a wedding.

I don’t like to be there other than the weekend, it feels so gloomy since the house is empty and the place is too quiet.

I go to Sur (first village) almost twice a year, I never liked being there and I still don't know why! I always try not to sleep there but sometimes I end up sleeping there :XD:
and I go to Nakhal (second village) almost once every few years, its a nice place and it's very close and I like it. Never slept over there!

I live in the D-Zone *my brother calls Dhakhiliyah region the D-Zone*. I hardly go to Muscat unless I've got some thing to be finished over there or taking family for money-spent-day-out.

Inevitable-y I'll end up working there some time.

I've only been twice, a few years ago, and it was just for a few hours, and mainly out of curiosity to see what it was like.
My family doesn't go regularly and I don't personally know anyone there so I have no interest in going again. Also, I'd rather not go somewhere that has no wireless internet, McDonald's, Starbucks, people sitting on the floor when eating, and using their hands instead of cutlery, etc. It's just not my kinda thing so I wouldn't go unless I was forced.

My husband's family doesn't go either, thank God! I'd hate it if I had to go when I don't know anyone and I'm not comfortable in that sort of environment.

I used to go there once or twice a year, during eid. We'd spend the first morning in Muscat, but go there after lunch, stay over, visit people and have lunch at my great aunt's place, then leave back to Muscat. I haven't been for over four years now though.

If I went to Oman, I would love to just follow a road and get off on a smaller road and so on and so on until I came to some village. And then see what I would see...

But probably I would just find a natural gas plantation or something... :p

My whole family lives in Muscat. Well, those that live in Oman. So, I don't really go to the interior.
