“Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Noted from other thread.

Universal slogan to uphold humanity with love, affection, tranquility, oppression free society for peaceful co-existence.

Is there any religion that contradicts the above principle?

Is there any religion that comply with the slogan?

ALL religions teach this principle - the problem is not the religion itself but the followers of the religion that are always the problem. Greed, avarice, envy, selfishness........ its in us all.:D Thats why all religions also teach forgiveness and mercy.

Thank you Kara,

The ethic of reciprocityor the Golden Rule is a fundamental moral value which simply means "treat others as you would like to be treated." It is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights. Principal philosophers and religious figures have stated it in different ways.

In other words " Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Its the basis of most religions esp Christianity, it teaches us empathy. I know it exists in Islam too.

I think its probably one of the most essential teachings of any religion. If you don't have compassion, then quite frankly you fail as a human being.

Its human nature.:( All religions also teach of the "devil" we carry within us the daily struggle to be good ppl. Not one of the major religions condones this bad behaviour but we as humans still do it. God has given us a choice whether we want to follow His teachings or whether we want to be "led astray" Its our choice and sadly a lot of ppl choose greed which leads to all the other sins. It just seems more noticeable now because more and more ppl lack the will to obey God and our societies are changing. Everything is about money and power now. Sure there are still some "good" ppl out there but the drive to be succesful, to be rich or powerful is stronger now than its ever been. Who to blame? Society? The Media? Governments? Ourselves? I say all of the above.

It is the followers of the Religion that contradict this statement not the Religion !
