Planes are very common transportation methods and I guess everyone here experienced it at some point in their lives. What other transportation methods did you travel by?

I travelled by plane, car and train. I wouldn't travel by ship because I hate being in the middle of the ocean for a long time but I don't mind few hours of crusing.

What about you?

I can't believe that there are some people here in the US who have never flied by plane. I was shocked when I knew that some of my university colleagues never been anywhere outside the US, and all their trips to other states in the US were by car...

Anyways, apart from traveling by plane I've traveled by train when I was young. But I don't remember it quite well. I also traveled by ship once when I was young but also don't remember it very well. And of course I traveled by car & bus a lot.

I don't like traveling by plane. I just get sick whenever I enter a plane and I don't feel good for the entire trip. I don't have phobia from planes, but I just get sick and my stomach feels bad. I never ever eat anything in planes. When I was coming from Oman to the US, I didn't eat anything for more than 24 or 30 hours ... until I reached home and had dinner with my brother.

I think my favorite transportation method is car. No matter how far the destination is...

Amjad, maybe this sentence will make you feel better:

"Planes are the safest transportation method".

Well... yeah, you have a good point here. But.. I still think that planes are not safe..

I get airsick everytime. I remember coming back from Florida and we were circling the St. Louis Arch...my daughter and I both turned green. Also, one time when we were flying back from Puerto Rico we hit some serious turbulence and I was thrown in the air, my hands touched the celing of the plane. THAT scared me but after the turbulence calmed down was fine. Whenever we take off I always say a prayer for a safe journey.

car - My preference, and I prefer to drive than be driven.
boats and ferries.. ok.. but I tend to get a little seasick if they are still in the water.
bus - many times
plane - a few times. Scares the shit out of me.. but what can you do?
motorcycles - as passanger, don't mind it.
horseback - an absolute favourite. Almost like I was born for it.

:hyper:

me too marianna..

Last summer, I took kids to a water park. They have this thing called "Lazy river" where you sit on this tyre or float and the movement of the water takes you around the whole complex in what looks like a "river" that goes around the complex.

The kids loved it.. "again mummy, again.."
So around and around we went.

I swear I was 'sick' for the next 3 or 4 weeks. I felt that horrible sickness for so long, I thought I was ill or something.

There is a pill that gets rid of all this sickness. I use it for long distance traveling and it really helps. I can read or watch a movie with out feeling sick ..

anyway i used cars, buses, plains, trains, undergrounds, ferries, ship, motorbike, bicycle, rollerblades

Car, plane, boats (different kinds), ferry, subway/tube, train.

I don't like trains unless it's a very short journey. If it's longer I'd much prefer a plane or car so I can sleep.
