My bro has fungus infection all over his back, underneath and back of his neck and on his upper arms. I had the same problem a long time ago, my father had it too (bad genes). I used Nizoral shampoo and it worked fine for me, but it didn’t for my bro. He tried every prescription the doctors gave him, Clotrimazole Powder Antifungal Antibacterial (http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd93/Evanaa/ClotrimazolePowderAntifungalAntibac.jpg), Nizoral shampoo (http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd93/Evanaa/Nizoralshampoo1.jpg), Bioderma (http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd93/Evanaa/Bioderma1.jpg), Cutivate Cream (http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd93/Evanaa/CutivateCream1.jpg) and Philaquin Forte Cream (http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd93/Evanaa/PhilaquinForteCream1.jpg)(see the pic’s taken by my camera). Some helped to look lighter but it came back dark and annoying like before.

P.S: I don’t have the fungus now, it is gone, but sometimes when I get SO SICK, it comes back very lightly colored and goes immediately once I use the shampoo Nizoral. I think I have a weak immune system.

Is there any prescription or medicine can get rid of fungus permanently? :(

This is how fungal infection of skin looks like (the lighter skin you have the nastier it looks):

I used to have that. I went to Muscat Private Hospital and I was given pills and creams to apply. I don't remember the name though.

Can you get rid of it permanently? No you can't

Are there good treatments that could lead to life long remission? Yes

Consult your Dermatologist regarding Lamisil cream (Terbinafine)

Thanks Minerva & Marianna but I think eczema is not a fungus, they are not the same.

Advantan cream is particularly suitable for acute and weeping stages of eczema, not fungus. Though would give it a try.

Evana, systemic anti-fungal treatment is more beneficial in the case of your brother, discuss the oral therapy with the Dr

Needs to be prescribed by the Dermatologist, can't be bought directly from the pharmacy

All the best

interesting, my dad has that..or something similar on the back of his neck. it's like little red spots on the skin, nothing bumpy or anything, like a hickey. i guess it's fungal infection as well.
