Thanks! minerva 02-04-08, 01:32 AM here's my routine. i use yonKa products. all made from natural stuff. herbs and things that are really nice smelly yummy this is my face wash http://images.dermstore.com/catalog/500067/300x300/5249.jpg then a spray of this..really closes up pores. it's an astringent lotion that makes the skin feel nice. smells lovely too. http://www.lavandou.com/images/yonka/lotion_normale.jpg then to top it up, this grapefruit based moisturiser. it's protective and keeps the shine off. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21acllnlXDL._AA160_.jpg three times a week i use this clarifying masque. you let it dry on your skin and then 'rub' it off. you see your dead skin on your fingers, literally. http://anastasiaskincare.com/shop/images/gomage.jpg marianna 02-04-08, 01:37 AM I used to have this gorgeous clear skin and now I have to really work at it. BIG sigh...someone once told me to use egg white on my face and it will purify my pores. The Yonka products, I will have to look them up and see if sold here in the USA and what the prices are. Thanks Minerva! Thalia 02-04-08, 01:43 AM you mean like home made stuff? Here are some things I've used in the past at home.. Natural Clay as a mud pack. Brilliant stuff if you can get any.. boil it first for hygiene reasons, let is settle into a sediment .. then remove water.. Lemon juice as an astringent Calamine lotion as a drying and quick relief for zits. marianna 02-04-08, 01:45 AM I have used Crest toothpaste for zits and omg works like a miracle but will not make that god awful redness fade. Someone said to put Visine on it...I did but no dice. Will try the lemon juice but am afraid will lighten my skin. I do have some freckles but not as much as my kid's. I love those things. Thanks Thalia....I love home made remedies also. Kreeemy 02-04-08, 04:21 AM What works for minerva might not work for you. Even what have worked for you before a year might not work for you now. I suppose you should consider some specific aspects before making a purchase such as your skin type, lifestyle and age. marianna 02-04-08, 04:30 AM At 39 no wrinkles as yet (THANK YOU OH THANK YOU WRINKLE FREE FAIRY)....what I am noticing is that my skin tone is not as completely even as before. No serious blotching but not the same as say when I was 25. I never had to wear foundation before. Now if I do I use only a little to even things out but still I see a dullness there. I read somewhere that as a person ages they do not get rid of their dead skin cells as fast as say when they were younger. I want to use something that will not cause my skin to break out but at the same time will really clean me out from the inside through the pores. Kreeemy 02-04-08, 05:10 AM For dullness caused by dead skin cells I recommend crystal peeling. It is mostly used in conjunction with facial spa treatments and you can find it in day spas and medical spa. The treatment peels the skin delicately and has no bad effect on the skin since it is not chemical. It takes like 15 minutes and is not painful at all. The cost of it should be similar to any facial treatment. I have personally used it to get rid of acne marks but it also reduces the size of pores, wrinkles and gets rid of dead cells. Endure Whisper 02-04-08, 08:43 AM Facial treatement, the person who's doing it for you should be able to tell you what kind of facial treatment exactly you need by testing your skin. Also, as mentioned in one of my previous posts, youghart, oats and honey, mixed together is a good facial mask. So many people are amazed by Neutrogena, I am sure you're aware of this product, they admire the soap bar not the liquid ones. I haven't tried it though.. Riv 02-04-08, 10:28 AM ahem, i hate putting gooy stuff on my face! lol my Dettol moisturised soap takes care of all things :D Bubbles 02-04-08, 10:51 AM using any sort or tonic regulalrly, after washing your face with a good skin soap really reduces pores. Or how about a facial :D usually does the trick. Riv 02-04-08, 12:17 PM I've heard somewhere that facials kill the skin, is that true? Kreeemy 02-04-08, 06:10 PM Facails that uses a steamer is not good for the skin because it opens the pores. Riv 02-04-08, 06:12 PM i thought some ladies try to open the pores to get the chemicals to go in or somethin, i guess that's wat cracks their skins! Ever watched Catwoman movie? marianna 02-04-08, 06:17 PM For me I want to have any impurties taken out of my pores. As I get older I want to still be gentle with my skin but firm in a way where I can keep it clean. I know drinking plenty of water will help in this area from the inside out....but I want to prevent sagging and lines and keeping an even skin tone. Kreeemy 02-04-08, 06:19 PM Im not sure about getting the chemeical in but i know they open it to get rid of the blackheads. anyway by doing so you are solving one problem( getting rid of black heads ) and creating another one ( opening pores which can make the size of it appear bigger) |
