View Full Version : Hair Treatment
Kreeemy 30-03-08, 05:56 AM I have difficulty in managing my hair. It is extremely thick, curly, frizzy and dry. My hair is just too high maintenance, it is time consuming to style and the styling hardly lasts long enough.
I heard about some treatments for curly hair like Yuko Hair Straightening but I am looking for one that would just smooth out the frizz and reduce the hair volume without actually making my hair pin straight.
Any idea?
Endure Whisper 30-03-08, 09:38 AM Do you go for hot oil treatments regularily? It helps, alot! Once a week for one month, and you'll notice the difference. Also, but I haven't tried this, lemon and coconut oil mixed together, softens the hair.
I am into natural products so that's the only way I can help you!

I have hair with no volume .. very thin and a wavy. There is this saloon in ghubra that I go to which has a treatment that will give your hair a stright and natural look. The saloon calls it herbal strightining (tamlees bil a3shab). I tried it and it gave my hair an excellent look, like I've blow dried it. The only draw back was the smell .. which will take a week from you apply till it goes with constant washing.

iv heard about the yoko treatment.. n saw a frind do it.. n her hair was falling like mad after like a year.. n we all noticed how it became thin and just ( tired ) like her hair became so unhealthy.. after mashalah it was so thick!
i dont have curly hair, but id really suggest not to go with any treatments related to straightening ... unless off course some1 have tried it and u saw the outcome on a year or so.. like wt Arabian princess mentioned about the ( tmlees bel2a3shab ) herbal treatment.
Endure Whisper 30-03-08, 04:52 PM But again keep in mind, those chemicals react to different types of hair differently.

I have tired using natural oil on my hair but I always get negative results like my hair would feel drier and look frizzier.
I once read some where in the net cant recall the website that when using oil its like you are frying your hair when exposed to heat or the sun.
I am not sure whether the information is true or false but at least it some how gives an explanation as to why my hair is not responding well to organic oils.
Kreeemy 31-03-08, 01:23 AM The herbal treatment sounds interesting but seems like it straightness the hair.
I would still like to wear my hair curly that is why I am looking for something that would just smooth the frizz and reduce the volume.

i use tresemme hair treatment for anti frizz and for anti dryness. maybe do it for 3 times consecutively at first. like every day for 3 days, and then do it weekly. thalia once mentioned a really good salon treatment (was it a kerastase specialist treatment?) that softens hair. it would make your hair more managable. if your hair is naturally really curly, i suggest you don't fight it, but work with it to make the curls stand out more and be more organised.

is it that one with hinna and ashab on it?
coz i heard it make the hair falls :os
Arabian Princess 31-03-08, 09:38 AM ^I dont know what does it have, but it did not make my hair fall. In fact, I am able to grow my hair long for the first time for years now because of it.
My lil girl has the same kind of hair, thick and curly.. I love it! Ive spent most of my life payin salons a small fortune to get the look my daughter has been blessed with. Her hair also tends to frizz and get dry and because shes only lil I use mayonaise on her hair once a week. Softens it up really nicely and instead of frizz we have ringlets. Gorgeous! But you must use real mayo not the cheapie stuff or better yet make your own mayo and then apply. Dont straighten you hair.... youre so lucky to have curls!
Kreeemy 01-04-08, 05:47 AM Thanks Minerva I’ll go to the nearest saloon that have kerastase and ask them about the special treatment that would just soften my hair and make it more manageable.
Hijabi, Isn’t mayo hard to wash off?
i've also heard about mayonnaise, but i can't stand it on the plate, let alone on my hair! xD i remember my friend's sister putting on mayonnaise on her hair once, and she had to wash it i don't know how many times for the smell to vanish, ended up putting lemon or something.
doesn't your little girl's hair smell after washing it hijabi?
Endure Whisper 02-04-08, 08:47 AM I heard good stuff about mayonnaise as well!! Couldn't try it though :os
Nella, when I used to mix my own kind of oils at home and apply it on my hair, I used fruity scented shampoos and conditionars so that the smell can go away faster ;) give it a try!
