I am at a quandry as to what the heck to do with my hair. I have a round face and very thick hair. Also can be dry. At my age not sure whether to keep it long or short. What hairstyles are suited best for age and face type? I am low maintenance and not sure if I want really short hair and with a round face am thinking not the best hairstyle.

What hairstyle suits you and why???????????

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! :shy:

I think short hair looks better on round faces, I have a round face and my hair is just below my shoulders, also layering looks good, I can't explain my current haircut so I'll post a pic.

here you go, my bangs are longer though.

On that picture does she have long layers? I think on top hers are shorter.

Marianna.. I have a round face and all the books say a bob does not suit a round face.

I disagree. :p

Many people used to ask me.. "but what suits me?"

And my answer always was.. "What makes you happy? What do you really like on you? - That is what suits you."

There is no point in having a style that a book says 'suits your face shape' and everytime you look in the mirror you see something you don't like.

Basically, the rules for a round face are not to have a side parting and not to have a bob. *cough* I have both.

Your hair texture and curl though probably sets a few boundaries for you. Shorter than a bob might not be wise because it will look like a ball of hair. So I'd say, on the shoulders with a few layers would look nice on you and would be easy to maintain - that's if you like that kind of style. :D

(she'll probably tell me it's like that already :hyper: )

Dam3eti, that face shape is oval. The 'perfect' face shape.. it takes anything.

I have a round face and thick hair and this is what I do: I let my hair open most of the time. Even on my wedding, I did not have a special hair style; I let it open with a hair clip raising part of the hair for my veil to rest on.

I like hot big curls for long hair; they look so beautiful..

Pony tails are neat; you can either part your hair right in the middle or by the sides or pull it all backwards.. all are nice..

My daughter has the oval and can wear any style. ARGH! Me noooo....I have a moon face. That is why I have to be careful about what haircut I choose. I went and saw a hairstylist and he did not cut my hair the way I wanted it. He cut it too short and I was so mad I never returned. Now after two months I need to tame this wild mane.

After having a second look at your picture :p I think that choppy layered haircut like Jennifer aniston hair in this picture will look good on you. :)

Yeh I know it's Oval I couldn't find a round shape with that hairstyle, I just wanted to say that that's my current hairstyle.

Marianna the top of the hair is short, its a funky style.

I have thought about that style....My hair is now past my shoulders a little bit. Very thick and wonder if I could handle Jennifer's cut. Will have to find a picture to print and take to the stylist. BIG GULP. I am so paranoid about returning to get my hair cut. Sometimes (the ones I went to) talk and seem to forget you don't want five inches cut off.

Just don't cut it away from the face.

Thanks gals. I well tell the beautician not to cut away from the face. Those with thick hair I wonder if layering helps or adds bulk.

Jennifer's style is nice - if you have straight hair. OR if you plan to keep it straight all the time.

You have to ask yourself how much time you're going to put into it. That haircut is high maintenance.

Minerva has a version of that, but a bit longer, so she can have it both ways. Curly or straight.

Love to see a picture of Minerva! :)

My hair is wavy big time. Has a life of its own. Sometimes want to do a Britnay and shave it bald lol..........

It helps only if they aren't cut too short. The shorter the layers, the lighter the weight of the hair, the more curly, springy and bouncy they will be. But it also means they will "stick out" if they're cut too short. All depends on how curly and how thick your hair is.

Stylist has to decide how short is too short.

The thing with hairstylists is, you should try to stick to the same stylist for as long as possible. Sometimes hairstylists need to get used to how your hair reacts to be able to work with it. And that comes with time..

True...I did like this one lady but the thing is she is always busy and there are no scheduled appts. She works for a chain here called Fantastic Sam's. I went to this guy because I felt bad to tell him I wanted her. He was very pushy. I need to stand up and just say hey man...this is my hair and I like this lady to do it. She is originally from Malaysia. Also a Muslim and she knew my ex and I. She always has me laughing. Very sweet personality.

I think short hair would perfectly suit you.

Thanks Faith. Now if I can convince my daughter of the same. She has a sweet pixie face and I would die to have her hair.

I love jessica's hair style in the pic, I'd die to have curly hair.

marianna

She is mixed and when she doesn't straighten it with a hot iron or whatever those things are called it has soft curls. When she was 13 I took her to see a professional and they relaxed her curls and they have stayed that way. I would die to have her thick hair and curls. If she let them be natural they would look kind of like Halle Berry's in the picture Thalia posted.

I dunno what would suit you honestly =S

I recently cut my hair a bit short...medium length with a side fringe

Any haircut with a fringe looks hot! And I really love that look when your bangs cover your eyebrows. Very sassy, and makes you look way younger than your actual age.

This style is a m a z i n g .

It looks great on both straight and wavy/curly hair, and it looks much better when the hair is fluffed up a bit where the hair ends are turned outwards instead of inwards.

I didn't find another image to show that.

Personally, anything long with a side parting suits me.
My hair right now is kinda like this, except it's a bit longer:

^ Go for it, although it's a bit hard to manage some hairstylists complain while blow drying it!

I got a new hair cut today :hyper: never had it this short before! Feels so light! It's something similar to this one but mines a bit edgier.

^^ yeah my hair was like that 1st pic i posted and the same color coz i dyed my hair before with light brown and some light high lights then my dark brown hair roots started to show

so i dyed it all in home with dark brown and didnt dye the low part so it kinda looked like that!
