……….When a child is lost or kidnapped in USA, UK and Europe the police and the media launches campaign and lots of other efforts to find the child, with big rewards ……….
…..but what happens to lost or kidnapped children in the Middle East, GCC and in Oman?.......................do they get reported that they are lost?..............do they launch any campaigns or send troop group of police and the forces to find these children?.............do they even offer any rewards????................................
………….i am asking cause I’ve never seen or heard of any thing happening in Oman to find a lost child………….although we have big percentage of kids getting kidnapped for one reason or another………..
……..plus I only read about stories of kidnapped kids especially in Egypt and Morocco through magazines like Kul Al~Usra or Zahart Al~khalij…etc……..and most of these stories are of kids either already found and they are alive or found dead………so just the end of the story but not the whole thing as per steps from the moment the police receive the report of the disappearance to when the child was found…….

If you don't hear or see anything about it in the media than it must not be happening...

^^^^...do you want to tell me......that there isnt a case of kidnap in Oman?....
I guess the police take care of it in "confidence". And if anybody hears anything, it would be through word of mouth. I guess it's the choice of the family of the kidnapped child to make it public and ask for the community to help them with finding the child- not the police as they choose not to issue a missing persons report. But perhaps publicizing a kidnap is discouraged because it would give the kidnapper clues or something else to act upon or harm the kid...I don't know.

best post of the day.
This is what the M.E. media would like you to believe.
Kidnappings here are something of a rarety. probably because with the country being so small there is no where to hide.
BUT.
Kidnappings that DO occur are usually abductions by family members.
Here's the thing:
If they are kidnapped to Europe there is an "international" law that makes it illegal.
But if they are kidnapped in the other direction .. ie. to the south and the east (arab countries for example) .. this law has no effect. So basically speaking.. if a parent managed to abduct the couple's child to, say, Egypt.. there is **** all the other parent can do.
Marianna can probably add to this with her friend's experience.
Why don't these countries pass this law and join the rest of the word in the fight against child abduction and kidnapping?

True
Regarding Oman, we can't say a kidnapping but ' missing ' case since some of the kids run away by their own choice. When a family tells the police about their missing child or a relative, the internal security will start an investigation and search campaign starting with the family themselves. Sometimes it appears that the child is used to be missing for some immoral reasons and when it appears to be this way, the police won't be so excited to search for the kid. However, if it's the first time to happen then the police will take it seriously and start by asking and interrogating the close people of the missing one and distribute his/her pics to all police branches besides the civil internal security members, and yes they try to keep it as confedential as it could be. Unfortunately, there are many missing cases happening in here and it's so sad indeed.
actually,
u have mentioned about the percentage in Egypt and Morocco according to some magazines. Thta does not conclude that oman have big percentage of kidnapping
Kidnapping does occur in Oman but it is very very rare... i never heard of any case..
