Do you judge food by the way it looks?

That's one of my bad habits.. I always look at the food and from there I decide on whether or not I should have it.. Are you like me?

me, i judge food by its smell. I smell the food like animals before eating it. im wierd sa7?

The food I eat has to look "Okay", I don't need garnish or colorful food to open my appitite.. it's just has to look decent enough to eat.

I'm very picky about food, so yeah in this case appearance does matter lol

^ I second you pixie and its not only appearance that matters the smell is just as important too.

I used to judge it by looking and its smell..
But now I kind of eat it and then judge it! :XD:

well, i cant deny that look has its importance...

but sometimes some messed-up looking meals turn out to be good in taste :angel:

Yeah.. I have seen a lot of food that don't look good here but they taste WONDERFUL!

it's definitely the smell and the look that says 'fresh' not 'tinned' that works for me.

Apparently, smell doesn't really play a role for me. As long as it doesn't smell nasty or rotten, I am okay. The looks just make me so picky!

They say don't judge a book from it's cover but I guess that does not implement on food.
Food must:

1. Smell good
2. Look good
3. Taste good

Looks ARE important! You don't want your dish to me messed up, with lots of slimy-like liquids and unknown circular objects flowing in your soup, do you? *OK, that sounds disgusting XD* .
However, why not give it a shot, ignore the looks, concentrate on the taste. I know that's pretty hard to do but oh well, sometimes you gotta do that lol especially when you're starving.

Smell, realistically speaking, you can judge the food based on its smell, no doubt! Because the smell is originally associated with the taste. Do'h.

I judge it by tasting it. And usually if it smells good, it tastes good.

When I cook, I can't guarantee it would look good :p. For survival purposes, I have to taste it to see whether it is edible or not. Surprisingly sometimes something looks SO terrible but tastes divine! So guys who judge by looks, you might be missing out!

^ I know! I always thought Um Ali, the dessert, was bad because of the way it looks! I tried it once and woooow, I've been missing out alot!

The way the food look plays a major role in judging, no doubt..

I think I judge the food by the way it smells. Though most of the time I just grab my fork and eat away :p

No.. I dont care much about look as my dad is an excellent cook but sucks at appearance :p

the smell matters to me though .. A reason i don't eat sea food cause i cannot stand the smell

I only judge by the smell and hardly care about looks

i never thought there would be so many people with the same smelling problem that i have!
i always have to smell everything!

but i never ever judge a dish by how it looks.. coz somtes the messest is the most delecious !
