What are the places in Oman would you really like to visit?

My list:

- Al Hoot Cave.
- Jabal Shams.
- Salalah.
- Maseera Island.
- Mussandam (the new resort there).
- Wahiba Sands.

To be frank .. I've no plans to visit anywhere local. :)
I'm not that kind of guys who likes to explore new places.

It's like someone comes to me and says: 'lets go to ...' and I say: 'Ok'.
That's the case that might take me outta Muscat.

well, we keep canceling the trip to that god damn cave for almost a year now, whenever we decide, something comes up..i'm starting to feel like maybe it's a sign we shouldn't go?

i'd love to travel everywhere i've never been to before in Oman, i love local trips. :love:

I've been to Alhoota cave, it's amazing.

I guess they renamed it from Waheeba sands to Bdiyya sands? That's because Al-Waheeeba who the sands got named after were well known Desert Pirates.

I don't have any place in particular i want to go to, but if someone asked me to go with them, i wouldn't mind tagging along.

Wahiba Sands is now referred to officially as "Sharqiya Sands". Several tribes inhabiting that area and it's surroundings have sent a request to the government to change the name since the Al Wahiba tribe is no longer demographically dominant.

I think u r talking about..Majlis Al Jinn.... it is the biggest cave chamber in the world: This chamber is 180mtrs deep and 4 million cubic meters volume. The abseil in and out is mind blowing...:)

Okay, I'm cutting down my list. I've been to Al Hoota Cave 2 weeks ago and Wahiba sands 3 weeks ago... both beautiful places!

Have any of you managed to visit what they wanted to visit/see?!

My father is the adventurous type, whenever we could we would go out around Oman, for the whole day, or camping. So we've been to most of the places mentioned above.

oh so today i went out to dinner with my mother (really i wanted to put this in the members lounge open sabla thread, but it's locked already *sigh* :hyper: )
and i was telling her about oman and the people i've met over here.
i told her 'you know oman ma, it's near......'
she cut me short with 'I'VE BEEN TO OMAN'
i was flabbergasted. she never told me!!!!
i asked her for more details and she said 'i went to oman on a couple of days trip when i went on holiday to dubai...most beautiful country i've ever been to'
she mentioned some places that you've mentioned over here already.
