When you miss a prayer, do you pray it or do you ignore it?

I pray all my prayers even if I missed them. Sometimes, I pray all five prayers at night.. But I do, I never ignore them or let them go.

How do you take care of missed prayers?

The time of a missed prayer is the moment you remember it. I think there is a hadith saying that. In addition a muslim should not take prayers lightly and delay prayers for no strong reason, each of the 5 daily prayers should be performed in time.

Praying all 5 prayers at night or other time at once is wrong.

Prayer is the pole of the deen and everthing attached to it.

I never ignore my prayers. Sometimes you may get busy to pray on time, and you miss it. But i can't let them go or ignore them i have to pray, if i didnt i would feel guilty and uncomforable.

If i missed a prayer i will try to pray it as soon as i rememeber that and sometimes i join it with the one after.

I remember reading a fatwa from al Khalili saying the same thing

what if you can't stop for prayer (as in you are on a train and you can't kneel down and pray properly) can you say the prayers in your heart?

I can never miss a prayer as it feels so bad. Praying is one of the most important features of being a Muslim.

^ you can pray while you're on your cabin, if you can't stand, u can do it while sitting, if u can't sit, u can do it while laying down, if you are not able to move at all, you can do it in your heart :)

ah ok, i've had muslim workers in my house a couple of years ago and i used to admire them they used to carry the prayer mat with them. in the scorching sun, they used to take the compass out, and pray even in the scorching sun.

as long as you mean the prayers, and do your best not to miss them, i'm sure the offerring would be accepted by God.

You can pray in your heart? I'm sorry then minerva, I edited my post.
And yes you do see Muslims praying everywhere 'cause sometimes we can't find prayer rooms.
I think it looks so beautiful, and shows how important praying is to us :).

pray in my heart, as in saying the prayers in my heart. I am Catholic so i don't have times of prayer, but during the day i remember someone who needs prayer or i want to pray for my children and if i can't do that aloud and with other people, i do it quietly alone. every little helps.

do you have special alarm clocks for prayers?

Yes we have five different times for the five prayers. Evry prayer should be on its time unless there is an inevitable circumstance.

what times are they?
at schools for example, do they have breaks for prayers or do they stop a lesson to pray?

Well there are programs online like one provided by islamicfinder.com, but we also have the athan (the calling for prayer) in Islamic countries, in which people are called for prayer.

we have that in Malta too...at the mosque the people who live close to it can hear the chanting from the muezzin (is it what the tall tower is called?)

No, the muezzin or Mu'athin is the man who performs the athan :).

At school there is always a time for the noon prayer. At college there are no lectures at the praying time. And the times slightly differ every season but they are:
Dawn prayer ( fagir ): mostly at five in the morning
Noon prayer ( Dhuhur ): at 12:30
Asir prayer: about 4:15 pm
Maghrib: about at 6:30
Isha2 prayer: at about 8:00

Am not giving the exact time but it goes around this

sorry for the too many questions...hope i'm not bothering you lol.
aside from the bowing down, what do you pray? what do you say? is it different at different times? and can you include prayers for people in need during prayer time?

when we pray, we say prayers for the sick and for people that need God's help together with our traditional prayers. ex in class, after the Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, the prayer to the Guardian Angel, the morning prayer, we offer a prayer for anybody's relative who needs it.

All the prayers are the same in what you say. You choose verses from the quran to recite then there are words to say for God. The prayers only differ in the number of Raka'at ( not sure about its meaning in english ) And you can pray for others after the prayer in the du'a part but not in the prayer itself.

Is that a fatwa from you?

I understand if the person is sick then it is something else.

But for a healthy person what is the excuse, while travelling Islam allowed combining prayers and shorten them. Prayer in Islam is a practical worshiping duty so it should be performed by soul and body.
