Dose it surprise you?
Most of the Christian well aware The Bible has a division.
It is known as :
1.Red Letter Bible.
2. Black Letter Bible.
Can Black letter Bible overlap Red Letter Bible?

Thank you, There are many thing , we don't know.
Please wait for the reply but afraid , will they open mouth?
minerva 07-03-08, 05:49 PM there is no such thing and anybody who believes so is stoopid. sorry to reveal that to you.
Red and black, are these new versions of the Bible?
Mr. Shamsery would you please share with us the source of that information?
I believe there are some publishers about who will print Jesus words in red, but everything else in black..
Other than the colour of the text there shouldn't be any difference.

well i am 35 years old and i have been brought up for all those years in the Catholic faith, i have opened my mind up to other faiths and sects as well....because i wanted to RESPECT them.. and i have never ever encountered a two ink bible system. :hyper:
Its a Protestant idea. :)

minerva 08-03-08, 03:13 AM i heard there is 70 different versions of Bible is that right?
depends on what you want to hear. Christianity has many different subdivisions..and none of them should be conflicting. some parts admit to an X amount of books, some others to more or less.
bottom line :love your god with all your heart and soul and love they neigbhour as thyself.
if you want to consult anything to discuss christianity, look up your query at catholic religion.
shamsery 08-03-08, 08:50 AM Mr. Shamsery would you please share with us the source of that information?
It is learned many years before and it is not misinformation.
It is not from any web page.
Please wait.
You will not be disappointed.
I wish let the Christian friend reply first.
It is known to them.
shamsery 08-03-08, 08:52 AM i heard there is 70 different versions of Bible is that right?
You are all most correct.
What is the purpose of this thread & all other threads that concern christianity?
You have no source, got nothing interesting to read & not to mention your style of writing is boring:zzz:..............
What is it that you want to discuss anyways?
shamsery 08-03-08, 10:51 AM Please say that to Mr. Shamsery

To know and share with others.

What do you mean by source?
Is it necessary to copy every thing from website?
Then what did I learn till post graduation?
Though I am still a tiny student?
Are you sure that I have brought a fake question?
Have you study on comparative religion?
If you are a Christian, go to your church and ask the father or priest.
If not Christian , please go to person who study comparative religion and can enlighten you.
Thank you.
1st of all there are no such things as red letter bible or black letter bible.
You are talking about the red letters edition, where a guy got the idea from a verse in Luke; it was about the cup, wine & blood; hence the color red.
This edition have all jesus' sayings in red, instead of quoting them. (Just like in some mus'hafs Allah is written in red) ever wondered about that edition of the quran & why it's like that?) or shall I open a thread for it?

Thank you , you are at the doorstep.
Other than the colour of the text there shouldn't be any difference.
Jesus words in red as you said.
I agree.
Rest words from whom?

“words of Christ in red.”
One difficulty with this is that the various red-letter Bibles don’t agree 100% on which words should be attributed to Jesus.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
-2 Timothy 2:15, KJV.
We are not talking about qur'an.
Let you and us learn the scripture The Bible correctly first. OK.

Let me declare clearly, I am not here to spread malice, hatred in religion.
Surely in political thinking, I belong to different school of thought.
As far the religion concern, I try to find out similarities between you and us.
Regarding different articles, threads, I wish to learn and share my experience on different scripture.
No problem, we can share the most sacred scripture of Hindu “Vedah” “Upanisad”.
As a student of comparative studies I wish to learn from others with due respect.
There are millions of people who read the Bible daily.
But how many of them try to find out the truth.
Same to Holy qur’an.
Let me declare clearly, you're not fooling anybody and nobody believes you.
minerva 08-03-08, 09:58 PM :hyper: @ student of comparative studies.
now that's a massive lie.
look at your opening post..
starts with a blatant, total and completely obscene lie about the Holy Bible and puts the statement forward as a FACT.

'everybody knows that the Holy Quran has two versions, the green version and the purple version, an the green one over ride the purple one?'
you'd know straight away i'm taking the mickey out of your religion, or else i'm just so gullible that someone told that to me while buying milk from the goatherd and i believed it. i really don't care about his intentions, but if he wants to make statements, he'd better back them up with links and proofs, quotes , chapter verses and dates.

One post disagree next post agreeing.:hyper:
minerva 08-03-08, 10:19 PM erm i was quoting shams's post. should have put it between quote tags. lemme edit cos you'll go off topic, and you can change your post as well for clarity, unless you have an agenda as well.
Threadlike 08-03-08, 10:23 PM minerva, we have had worse claims over here seriously.
Stuff like:
'Your prophet was a pedophile'
'The Qura'n is a book for crackheads written by a crackhead' (said in countless many ways)
And quite recently, 'Muslim God doesn't know basic maths'.
As a member here, I've become quite accustomed to defence really...And learned the hard way that telling somebody you're a big fat liar won't change anything.
It can work much better (even with people who you think are being dishonest) if you just bother to explain...Which you did! And I appreciate that!
i'm shocked!!!!!!!! :hyper:

You have different version, other christian has different one, other christians has different one, etc ...
Maybe it is something to do with Red Letter Christians (RLC).
Off topics and disrespectful posts have been deleted :bored:
Try to keep this thread within its main topic :bored:

i really don't care what other people post, as long as they back it from reliable sources. then i'll be able to discuss.
I am Roman Catholic, my book is approved by the Pope at the Vatican.
Shams has one purpose only in his this or that threads ... that is to disprove the bible. Fine no problem with that.
But to even think the man has ANY intension to learn or discuss anything about the bible is at the very least misleading, plain false and and IMO an intentional LIE.
Back to the topic though ...
I like the Blue version (http://englishsabla.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53054)... it matches my eyes.
ps: stormy please let a few read my post before you delete it :XD:

Hi Man,
Well, for a moment , let us suppose I have intention to disprove The Holy Bible( I mean that which you consider or call as your Bible).
Be informed , if I wish to do that , the total presentation would be different.
I am in doubt, are you and my Muslim Brothers and Sisters well aware about the Holy Bible?
Are the Books of Moses, The Bible and the Qur'an the cause of unrest, oppression, invasion, occupation, colonization?
Or it is something else?
Why get hesitant and feel uncomfortable when asking question on Bible in a modest way , with respect , without malice intention?
What makes you afraid.
You and your friend can come through invisible path but I invite you in open path.
Shamsery you can follow any version you want, but first you need people to discuss it with. From my experience:
1. If you discuss with a Christian scholar, they accuse you of being the devil of asking logical questions;
2. If you discuss with normal followers, they discredits the version if they reach a dead end;
So my advise is, whatever questions you have about Christianity, follow what the last book sent down by our creator says about it.
shamsery 09-03-08, 09:14 AM Let me declare clearly, you're not fooling anybody and nobody believes you.
No problem , every one know that I am not puppet of Zion's and imperialism.
I am not quoting any twisted verse from Bible?
I have the right to ask thousands of question on Bible , Torah and it would be your obligation to meet my question, if you know your scripture?
Same right you do enjoy, you can ask thousand of question on The Qur'an it is the obligation of the Muslims here to meet your question with honor, in modest way.
It is not question of believe or disbelieve me , Zahir Shamsery.
Question is , what you know about your religion?

1. From my end there is no problem.
They can choose any of the following version , New King James Version, New Revised Standard Version, New American Standard Bible, ASV, KJV, Third Millennium Bible, RSV, Today's English Version (Good News Bible), New American Bible, Douay-Rheims Bible, World English Bible, The Bible in Basic English, The Darby Translation, Webster's Bible Translation, Young's Literal Translation, and Wesley's New Testament..
I am at their disposal.
2. Edited ******
3. They don’t accept the last testament. Quoting or referring last testament is useless to those persons. So I requested Sir Ice Tea not to bring reference during discussion.
4. Let our brother and sister in Islam feel and realize , today’s world unrest has nothing to do with religious faith, it is something different deeply rooted conspiracy against us.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable question about the Red Letter Bible. I have one on my shelf. It's true as Kara said that's it's mostly a Protestant idea, but it's not such a bad idea.
Christians mostly read the New Testament, since it most directly applies to our lives. And we love the words of Christ. So, for those who are reading the Bible, the direct words of Christ are printed in Red.
I supposed there might be a tiny difference here or there about whether some passage or other should be counted as a word of Christ. But not much.
Get a red letter Bible and flip through it. You won't find much in the way of differences.
Good question, Shamsery! :)
shamsery 09-03-08, 11:09 AM Jeff ,
I am happy.
You have proved that , I hadn’t any ill intention .

Please be informed being Christian,
The first red-letter New Testament was published in 1899, and the first red-letter Bible followed two years later.

Storm,
What makes difference , yeah how about i come forward telling you and you telling me?
None are here ( gullible) making fool, giving innocent information.
Purpose of this thread is to give you the correct picture.
Did you get about the proof of the existence of Red Letter Bible?
Out of joke no one should lie, there is no existence of the green version and the purple version, Qur'an.
This is lie.
Bottom line, you, it is you, who has given me the inspiration to write on bible.
I thank you for your kindness and award bequeath on me.
