View Full Version : I and My Father are one & Follow me
Jesus pbuh reported to have said "I and My Father are one". Christians believe that Jesus meant that he is God by saying that but the truth is that he meant he and God are one in purpose not physically one.
Example: If I'm a doctor and my father is a doctor. Then I said "I and my father are one", it means we are one in purpose as we are both doctors, it doesn't mean we are one person.
And the poof is that he also said to his disciples (total 13) "My Father is in Me and I'm in you and all we are one". does this means all the 13 disciples are Gods, in this case Christians should worship 14 Gods if one means one person.
Also Jesus said "follow me", again Christians think he meant by "follow me" worship me (or claming divinity) and the truth is he meant follow the commandments or follow the message which I have received from my God.
He also said "I'm the way and the truth", the fact that every Prophet was the way and the truth to his people, prophet Moses pbuh was the way and the truth, prophet Mohammed pbuh was the way and the truth, etc.
Yah it's all about symbolism.
Threadlike 07-03-08, 03:14 PM Then why does Jesus refer to God as 'Father'?
Why can't he say, 'I and God are different' instead of 'I and the Father are one' in order to make it all clear. It's quite a heavy matter you know, whether or not you're God.
And I still didn't see a doctor and his doctor son saying that :os...

I never said I endorsed him.
I was asking him as he is the initiator of the thread. I'm pretty sure that was very very clearly expressed.

Christians call a priest My Father, does it means a priest is God?
Thing is if Jesus is really God he will tell his people, I'm God or worship me to make it all clear.
Any doctor and his doctor son can say that, it will not make them God.
If I have suffering & pain, I would ask Allah for help & look into the means he had created for mankind to seek assistance, hence, I am asking the supreme power for help & guidance
Jesus said the following while supposedly he was on the cross: "My God, my God, why have You deserted Me?"
The above statement from the mouth of Christ explicitly shows that there is "someone" more powerful than him, that's Allah
Jesus is the slave of Allah, he cant do nothing without Allah's will
Exactly HITMAN.
Jesus also said "On my own I can do nothing", what does that suppose to mean?
IceTea, unfortunately many Muslims are also getting influenced by such negative beliefs, they seek the help of others
Muhammad :PBUH:
"When you ask, ask of Allah; When you seek help, seek help of Allah Alone"
Jesus :PBUH: taught the same doctrine
All monotheistic religiouns have the same basic belief
