I've taken birth control pills once to postponed the menstrual cycle but I don't remember how long before the menstrual cycle starts should I start taking the pills to stop it?

Keeping in mind, I don't use these birth control pills. I only use them when I want to postponed the menstrual cycle.

So, any idea on when should I start taking the pills so I can stop my next menstrual cycle?

Did the doctor ask you how many days are left for your menstrual cycle to start?

The doctor told women who wanted to take it for hajj that they had to come 10 days before their menstrual cycle starts. They were late, so the doctor told them to take three pills a day, one every 8 hours.

^ My dear, birth control pills do control your cycle and delay it. Some women I know who have to go to haj or Umrah take them so they don't get their period during pilgrimage. So yeah there are many other reasons one would want to delay her period.

I don't remember how long ago you need to take it, but I remember that if it was a week before you got your period, and you started taking the pills, then you have to take double the dosage, perhaps 4 pills a day. I guess it depends on the pill. You're better off asking a pharmacist.

What's with the panic?! Besides, I've done this before so you can't say:
"BIRTH CONTROL pills shouldnt interfere with your cycle. :os

Unless you're pretty sure of what you're saying (especially this falls under "HEALTH SABLA" you shouldn't just post for the sake of posting!) Anyway, Lym answered your question:

darling, i am sure of what i am saying :)
I GUESS it depends on which KIND of birth control pills.

I am asking WHY would you want to delay it? Are you going to hajj or something?

Well, it's a personal choice. I'd rather not propagate my reasons.

Endure, the pills are called Primolut N, they are quite safe

Follow those steps:
1- Start taking them at least 3 days before the expected date of your cycle
2- One tablet 3 times daily
3- Do not take them more than 2 weeks

I've used Yasmin previously and was quite comfortable with them. Should I still change to Primolut N?

If you did well on it then it's better to use the same

If you want to postpone your cycle all together you can look into the Depo Vera shot.
