Which hospitals in Oman perform FULL MEDICAL CHECK-UP, and how much do they approximately cost?
ES Doctors, would you really recommend a full medical check up in Oman?
A full medical check-up, a routine one shall consist of some baseline investigations such as:
- CBC (complete blood counts)
- LFT (liver)
- RFT (kidneys)
- TFT (thyroid)
- Fasting glucose
- Lipids
That's for a young healthy individual, if the age is above 45-50 then ECG & chest x-ray can also be done as a baseline
It's free of charge in any government institute (Thanks to Allah & his Majesty the Sultan)

What about private hospitals? any idea on the cost?
The ones I've mentioned should cost a maximum of 30-35 O.R

But the Q is... Can we "trust" the results?
And where is the best place to have a "Full Medical Check-up?"

Why can't you trust the results?
There is no best place, all depends on how much you are willing to spend on the tests that are routine & can be done at any clinic in a small neighbourhood or the most posh hospital in the capital or abroad

then why people get there full check up aboard, specialy to Iran , India and Thiland (American hospital)?
do the abroad hospital or clinic got some advantage then the ones here ?
Marvel, we are talking about routine medical check-ups which can be done anywhere & no health care provider should be better than the other
Those who can afford it, they prefer travelling even for minor things
Another issue is perhaps the lack of trust some have when it comes to going to local hospitals, actually many consultants in private hospitals are working in the government hospitals as well

Because some of my family had to have 2 check-ups and there has to be some "different" results in something..
So I was wondering if we can trust them or not..
But I want to have one but not sure where I should do it..
Squinty, minor differences are of no significance whatsoever
For example, one lab says your total cholesterol is 170 mg/dl & another test done elsewhere shows 160 mg/dl, both are normal
But if one lab says the blood is HIV+ & another says it's HIV-, then that's a significant difference because it would change the whole diagnosis
