I heard that the "start button" technology in most new Toyota cars (Aurion and Land Cruiser) has a bug! I have an Aurion that broke down on Thursday morning (didn't even go through first service- very new), and the dealer told us it's an issue with the "start button" technology.

My brother works in toursim and so many of those that go to Wahiba sands or off roads demand the previous Land Cruiser generation, not the new one because a few broke down when starting the engine.

Is it only with Toyotas? or is it basically all cars with a start button? Isn't start button technology reliable?

If you have a car that starts with a start button, did you ever notice any problems?

i got a car with a Start button, and so far, no problems whatsoever...

im guessing it's not just "the button" itself, it's the auto ignition mechanism ...

cuz we have other cars with auto ignition, but without the button, and they are working just fine...

it's the 1st time i hear someone complaining about it...

this function is all over the auto industry now, it started off with lexury cars, but now everywhere...

i guess that when u pay hundreds of thousands on Research, you do it better,,,,, then doing what other people do....

It must be a factory defect. It happens sometimes. If its with all vehicles they should do a recall and replace it.

I do have a start-button operated vehicle. And so far I have not faced any kind of problem :)
Btw, mine is a Nissan Altima and it has done more than 10, 000 Km so far :)

May be TOYOTAs' have this problem! :os

It can be a factory fault, you can't know. Though I never heard about Start button issues.
