in Malta, we have catacombs with 'graffiti' etched on them showing that Christians were gathering and celebrating mass as early as 60A.D, the time when St. Paul came to Malta. He converted most of the island,
Our history goes way back before 606A.D...Costantine the Great was emperor at 330 A.D..there was a pope at those times as well.. google a bit ;)

I believe we are all Adams decendants then after GOD ordered Noah PBUH to build the ship we became prophet Noah decendants. We call him our second grandfather while Adam is the first.

I think Mr Shamsery is suggesting that "cave-men" didn't really exist, i.e. he is a literal creationist, and is referring to the Bible's own creation story.

But then interpreting Mr Shamsery is an inexact art I have yet to master (sorry Shams, but sometimes I wish you'd just give your point simply because it often gets lost when you take the scenic route..)

This seems to be the sister of the dinosaur thread..not quite sure why both are necessary. One seems...a lot.

cos i mentioned catacombs and he confused them with caves.

i think shams here is confusing timelines.
in the quote (mine) he posted in the first post, i was replying to him asking how old the catholic church is. he was claiming in another thread that the church started at 600ad. whereas i pointed out that in malta (and in other countries, but i can speak for sure about mine because i have been to these sites countless of times) there are sites that show evidence of the early catholic church being active as much as 60AD. sixty years after the birth of christ, when paul came to malta.
the catacombs were burial places, and had chambers inter connecting with each other. they are not natural caves. they are man made dug up chambers.
in the middle of each catacomb (not cave) is an agape table. the agape (I think it means feast, gathering, party, sharing in greek) was the table where bread was broken and shared by the faithful.
the early christians used to meet in catacombs because at those times the roman empire did not recongnise christians. they had to go underground to pray together. they met in these caves (sic) ..catacombs to pray and share their belongings. the early christians lived by working hard and sharing all they had with each other.
the graffitti i referred to was the fish shaped 'ictus' (which meant 'fish' in greek but was an acronym for iesus christi and something else, cos i'm typing this from memory and not copying and pasting off other websites :rolleyes: )
when the catholic church was further established by the Emperor Constantine the Great, Son of Helena, finder of the True Cross (VSL for thalia), the Christians didn't have to pray in catacombs anymore.
hence the catacomb prayer people were not cavemen, just people who were prepared to meet in secret to pray because they were persecuted by the pagan roman government of the time.
as you can see, history repeats itself ;)
