Your friend tells you they don't like what you're wearing, your bedroom design, your hand writting, your style, your car, etc.. basically something about you!

They tell you that although you never asked for their opinions. How do you respond?

In the past, I used to say: "Oh really, how come? I like it", "But I like it"..

But now, I am quite mean and I tell them: "I never asked for your opinion!"

How do you respond to such comments?

Hmm they're probably just jealous or something :P So I won't get myself worked up over it...I'll just ignore. OR say something like "Okey :)".

If I like something then :p to you coz I LOVE my stuff.

We're all individuals, of course we're gonna love different stuff and have different taste. Why point out something that is yucky to you when it could be awesome to another person, and annoy them/put them down in the process.

I don't mind being commented at by a friend.. and I mean a real "friend".. actually I would rather see it coming from a friend on coming from a strenger or a mean person who hates me.

so am ok with that..

I'll say something along the line of: "Does my face looks like one that cares about your opinions? Err no! So shut it!"

I'd just say that I like it. I hate it when anyone comment on my car, it's my choice I love it so whatever.

It depends who .. and it depends how much that thing mean to me ..
i hate it when i buy something worth alot of money and in the end a friend comes to you and tells you "I dont like it" !

some .. i would just say "Ma yehmni ra2yak" .. (I don't care about your opinion)
some .. i would say "So?" ..

some can be like .. "La La i like it .."

For me I would first ask " Why" then I explain why I like it.I dont think we all like/dis-like them same stuff , so its very normal that some one dont like every thing I do/use.

Its very rude and mean to say ""I never asked for your opinion!"".I understand that a person whom dare to say " your bed-room looks dull" is some one close ,, a family member or a friend,so its hurth to say some thing rude,you will end up losing your family member/friend.

This doesn't happen to me often.. I guess my friends aren't rude :p Anyway, if it did happen I'll probably just laugh it off and change the subject.

haha, one of my closest friends says this all the time..i'd be really excited about something and then she'd say: 'oh god i HATE that!' notice it's not just 'i don't like' xD

i used to let it pass, but then i was about to explode one day, and right after she said her famous 'oh my god i HATE that!' i told tell her: 'and i hate the way you say you hate that!' can't you use more gentle words? something like: 'i don't like that' or 'that's not something i'd like' ?

it has become more of a joke now, whenever she starts ' omg! i HA..' i'd finish off her sentence: '..TE that!' and we all have a good laugh off it. haha :p

but with everyone else i usually respond with an 'ok', or just smile, laugh..and try to change the subject..i don't see myself saying: 'no one asked for your opinion.'

Got that.. I would ALWAYS reply:
"This is me! :D"

And if they are ANNOYED because of it I would say: "This is me.. If you don't like me.. leave me.."

I just laugh, smile or just say " Well, I like it " with a huge grin to follow :D

That never happened to me and hopefully its never gonna happen...but if it does happen then id say keep your comments to yourself unless they're asked for...

I'm soo laid back when it comes to sh!t like that.. I kno it looks good or else I wouldnt have gotten it .. It just comes down to different taste.. N theres nothing wrong with expressing that.. ;p

If it is from a really close friend then I will say " But I like it and it works for me " :)

If it is some normal friend, then I would say " But I didn't ask if you like or not ! "

I seriously hate ppl who react this way! I dont even no why they arent ashamed of this bi*chy habbit!! Its soo mean xD bss if that happend 2 me, ill either say something negative about them 2 (so tht we r equal) or say "Okay?" in a Mean way xD

Till now it didnt happen to me, but if it happened then i will smile or i might laugh and say ok thank you or its your taste, some would say something else of what you said as you know people have different taste in everything. so it doesnt mean what they are saying is right.

from: "oh really? what u dont like about it?"

to: "well, sorry, u got no taste at all"


but when it comes to my baby bimmer, it would definatly be: "what do you know? you got no taste in cars" :angel:

If all they are is critical then something is up but if once in a while I don't find it a big deal.

I will say 'Okay' with a smile :)

It's ok to have different tastes.. and be honest about them..

I'd just say.. "Really? Hmm.. I actually love it like that.. " and think nothing of it.

In contrary, i take what they say seriously if they mean it. And i will ask for more details like what exactly you don't like in it ? Where is the wrong in this ? What do you suggest ? And if am convinced then i may follow their advice. Some times critisism is a fruitful feedback :D
