Not knowing makes life much much easier. Pen_it_Black 26-02-08, 08:21 AM Speaking in a knowing-more-about-the-world point of view, the more you know, the more you realize how terrible the world can be. But then again, knowledge is power, and with it you can try to change the world to a better place or avoid getting into trouble. But with some situations, ignorance is truely bliss. PiZzaZz 26-02-08, 09:31 AM ^ World-wise, true. Personal- wise, not. Endure Whisper 26-02-08, 09:42 AM I agree because only the things you know or find out hurt you. If you don't know it, it won't hurt you. Lym 26-02-08, 11:18 AM I agree more with "what you don't realize won't hurt you". Just because you know something does not mean it will effect your life in any way. You have to realize its significance in order for something to hurt you or not. Thalia 26-02-08, 12:35 PM Yeah I agree with it.. but if knowing is going to be hurtful, finding out can be... very painful. When we say ignorance is bliss.. it reminds me of little kids. No worries, no problems, not a care in the world. The toughest thing to deal with was waiting for Christmas morning to open the presents, deciding which is better: white chocolate or brown or dealing with the knowledge that a broken toy is going in the bin. No sense of time, days, etc.. no sense of monetary value.. no knowledge of war and hate.. Of course, some kids have it tougher.. have to deal with poverty and hunger, neglect, rape, slavery etc.. Kinda highlights how much better it is to be ignorant sometimes. At least until we are mentally capable to deal with these things. Angel_Eyes 26-02-08, 05:42 PM ^hmmm...very interesting desi_chic89 26-02-08, 09:28 PM That is soo truee...not knowing something might make life easier...but in my point of view that sometime in ur life time..you'll wish that you knew...not everyone might be like that but only a few might do that Orgullo 26-02-08, 10:56 PM Its like saying U cant miss something u never had i agree with that.. yah AMARANT 29-02-08, 03:44 AM ^ World-wise, true. Personal- wise, not. +1 true . Jihad4Truth 29-02-08, 04:17 AM There is a saying: "I wish I did not know now, what I did not know then." Storm 29-02-08, 01:10 PM I agree more with "what you don't realize won't hurt you". Just because you know something does not mean it will effect your life in any way. You have to realize its significance in order for something to hurt you or not. I do agree as it is but I support Lym’s statement more. What you know might / might not affect you, but when you know something AND realize that it will affect you then you can at least be prepare if not avoid it ! squinty 29-02-08, 01:49 PM That is true.. and to tell you the truth.. I wish I never knew about a lot of things... That way MAYBE my lief would have been better and I would not have suffered a lot.. But then again... Maybe I have to go through this... Who knows... But at times, ignorance is a blessing! El Rey 29-02-08, 06:13 PM Sometimes you feel something is hurting you but you don't know what it's. Regarding the feeling i believe in this statement, but it also makes you live in ignorance about it which makes you even stupid. Example: your spouce is cheating on you, you don't know. This means you are not hurt. But some others know about it and they take you as a stupid, dumb, cheated. Bottom line: sometimes we should know no matter how much we are hurt so next time we won't be hurt again from the same person/thing. marianna 29-02-08, 06:14 PM I believe this saying however, if you find out later regarding whatever issue is at stake then the hurt is two-fold. Angel_Eyes 01-03-08, 02:28 PM I must say that i disagree with the statement. When you dont know something, it CAN harm/hurt you. I say that it's better to know the hurtful truth about something than to experience something unexpected and you really get harmed. Eventually you're going to know whether its today or tommorrow. Its bound to happen. I guess i'm saying I would rather 'know', get hurt and start the healing process. Stalling and delaying is no good. |
