If the answer is "Yes" then, in which aspect do you think it has developed? NaBHaN 12-02-08, 04:43 PM I'm not sure I understand this, do you mean the taste for art? the way you judge? or actually creating art? Haroundb 12-02-08, 04:44 PM I think that Art is a taste and the taste differers by the passage of time. Then what confuses me is that for example my grand grand father (born 1880) will find Kentucky Fried Chechen "Finger Licking Good"? Haroundb 12-02-08, 04:48 PM I'm not sure I understand this, do you mean the taste for art? the way you judge? or actually creating art? The taste, the taste....:) AMARANT 12-02-08, 05:40 PM yah i guess it kinda does... im guessing hundred of rectangular shapes mixed up in a random way wasnt Exaclt "art" 100 of yrs ago! NaBHaN 12-02-08, 09:39 PM I think a taste of art develops when you continue to expose yourself to art, I think it's a passion, just like anything else. Some people are passionate about food, about cars, games..music, it's all about what moves you. If you're passionate about art then you will develop a taste for it and with time that taste will enhance the more you actually learn about art, especially technique. Many people see an artwork and say oh it's good..even when it's not, or see an artwork and say oh it's bad when it actually is good, simply because they don't understand the technique behind it. I also think people's environmental surroundings, upbringing and circumstances help in developing a sense of taste. Haroundb 12-02-08, 10:52 PM So can we say (assuming the same level of artistic hormones), that you are better than yourgrand father in tasting art? NaBHaN 12-02-08, 11:14 PM I wouldn't know that since I haven't met my grandfather. But My father does have a pretty good sense of art, he's more into classical stuff but he has good taste in that area. Angel_Eyes 13-02-08, 07:24 AM Yeah i think it does change...because people are always changing as time goes on. Pen_it_Black 13-02-08, 07:27 AM No...we don't have better taste than people before us. Art goes through different phases and each phase has it's amazing pieces. We're going through the digital phase now I guess, but I still appreciate paintings done in the renaissance age. |
