In the name of Allah The Most Beneficient, The Most Merciful.
To remove Windows 2000 or unistall it, you either delete the folder of windows 2000 and then transfer the system files of your earlier operating system (Windows 98). If you have made the partition as NTFS please use the bootdisk of windows 2000 to remove it.You can make the boot disk from the CDROM of Windows 2000 found in the boot folder.

experienced the same problem before. boot on to ur computer using a system disk (windows 98 startup disk will do) and then when u get to the c:, type fdisk. a menu will appear - what i did was delete the NTFS pastition and created a new partition, then formatted the harddisk and restarted my computer. reinstall windows 98/95 after that. hope this is of use to u!!!

To uninstall Windows 2000:-

If you installed windows 2000 on a NTFS partition , run fdisk after booting your pc with the bootdisk. Then delete all your partitions and then create a new partition. You have to backup your required data ( office files , mails , imp software , databases , etc ) on another physical drive . Then format your drive. Now you can fresh instlal any operating system you prefer..

If you installed windows 200 on a FAT partition just delete the WINNT directory and reinstall any operating system .

Windows 2000 is built in Windows NT technology. It is good for Networking purposes or for Oracle Users.
Another new released Operating system is Windows Millenium Edition , which is an upgrade of Windows 98. It has extra features like System Restore , Windows Movie Maker , Windows Media Player 7 . It is faster to handle and has the same interface as Windows 98. It is quite stable

i dont really recommend using win2000 unless you are ready to do battle with a bull if you catch my drift. Its not really for home users its still new so not every software works with it and its like windows NT in fact it is windows NT the next edition so to speak. If you are running servers or heavy duty networks that require encryption and all kinds of fancy stuff like that then go for it. If you using it for games, email, internet, word processing then please please do yourself a favour and keep away. Although i am speaking not from experience but from what i've heard and read as i never touched win2000 and dont think i ever will. If you are one of those ppl that like to get the latest most expensive operating system but really dont have a clue then go for windows millenium. I'm sticking with my full of errors and system crashes win98 Second Edition! (although i hear w2000 is not much better)
