وفما يلي نص البيان 000
// بيان صادر من ديوان البلاط السلطاني 00 تفضل حضرة صاحب الجلالة المعظم /حفظه الله ورعاه/ بالاطلاع على الدراسة التي قامت بها اللجنة الوزارية المشكلة للتخفيف من ارتفاع الاسعار فقد تفضلجلالته /اعزه الله/ وامر بما يلي :ـ
1ـ توفير السلع الغذائية الضرورية بجميع انحاء السلطنة بصفة عاجلة وعلى الجهات المختصة وضع الية محكمة للتاكد من عدم قيام تجار التجزئة برفع أسعار هذه السلع وتعزيز الرقابة ومكافحة الاحتكار 0
2ـ تخفيض سعر الطن من الدقيق بمقدار /25 ريا ل عماني خمسة وعشرين ريالا عمانيا 0
3ـ على اللجنة الوزارية المكلفة بوضع الية لمعالجة ارتفاع ايجارات العقارات رفع توصياتها باسرع وقت ممكن 0
4ـ ان تتبع دائرة حماية المستهلك معالي وزير التجارة والصناعة مباشرة 0
5ـ زيادة رواتب موظفي وحدات الجهاز الاداري للدولة من الوزارات والوحدات الحكومية والهيئات والهيئات العامة والموءسسات العامة وغيرها من الاشخاص الاعتبارية اعتبارا من هذا الشهر وفقا لما يلي :ـ
أ / الموظفون بالدرجات المالية الثامنة ' التاسعة ' العاشرة وما يعادلها بنسبة 7 بالمائة من الراتب الاساسي 0
ب / الموظفون بالدرجة المالية الحادية عشرة وما يعادلها بنسبة 8 بالمائة من الراتب الاساسي 0
ج/ الموظفون بالدرجة المالية الثانية عشرة وما يعادلها بنسبة 12 بالمائة من الراتب الاساسي 0
د/ الموظفون بالدرجة المالية الثالثة عشرة وما يعادلها بنسبة 21 بالمائة من الراتب الاساسي 0
هـ/ الموظفون بالدرجة المالية الرابعة عشرة وما يعادلها بنسبة 43 بالمائة من الراتب الاساسي 0

In summry

Grade 1 to 7 = 5%
Grade 8 to 10= 7%
Grade 11 = 8%
Grade 12 = 12%
Grade 13 = 21%
Grade 14= 43%

The decree includes control and reduction of prices of basic commodties. In addition, the commitee which is responsible of controling real estate should raise thier findings ASAP.

Argh! wish they did the same to private sectors!

This is a very good initiative. A much needed one! This time around, the salaries of those in lower grades were increased much more than those in the higher grades. This would balance things!

But I feel for those, specially in low paid jobs, from the private sector :(

But the government can't and should not interfer in private sector wages. It could increase the minimum wage but thats another factor that could play with the economy and should carefully studied.
With this increase (but if we added the the previous increase), the private sector would have to adjust thier salaries to fit the new need, and attract the best workforce.

Private sector already has better salaries with more frequent promotions & annual bonuses (generally speaking)

Actually it's not practical for the government to increase the salary of LalBakhsh who works at a small shop in Mutrrah or to increase the salary of Babu the barber

Yeah I know its not practical or wise for the government to ask the private sector to increase its salaries, but I was referring to the low-paid employees from the private sector. Like those who work in hypermarkets or drive buses and trucks!

But the good thing about this decree was the reduction in prices of certain goods and command to control rental increases. This should help everybody :)

When the Question of PRIVATE SECTOR keeps coming I was wondering if GTO
LNG, REFINERY or PDO are part of private Sector to be Ignored with 5% Increase or do they fall under Govenment Apparatus when they can too get 5%.

I think these government owned companies will probably also increase the salaries. Someone working in any such company? Maybe OmanMobile, Omantel, PDO or LNG?

Nop. I dont think they are automaticly included in the decree. Some of those companies though tend to follow.
