ti3gib is one of my favorite members and is a very good friend. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks he is a great member here. A lifetime ban is too much, at least reduce his ban to 2-3 months! Is that hard enough?

Wow, then he must have broken quite a few. For me, a forum has rules to be abided by all participating members. To allow someone to flagrantly mock or insult other races, religions, beliefs etc....doesn't say much about the people who allow it (and I mean that in a general sense--NOT pointing fingers).

But to keep some sense of decorum is crucial when you want to have intelligent and in depth discussion. When a person only slings insults...how long will you take that person seriously. After awhile your anger takes over and anything they say holds no relivance. We are human beings, not animals. That is why there are rules in place to make sure people do not abuse others and trust me, you can abuse someone by words.

I'm assist. admin in a local forum. Minerva can tell you... we don't warn people who go that far. They get banned on the spot.

So, I would consider the "luxury" of a few warnings and use them to my advantage. Knowing you are getting closer to being banned should encourage you to be good. Not worse.

That's all I'm saying.

Well, I'm a smartas* like wudjab, I don't use swear words on members even if I attack them or insult them. The only difference is I don't insult other people's religions, beliefs and their countries.

hey mesmie.. it works both ways. Take a trip to the religion forum and see for yourself.

Also, I think there's a fine line that was crossed yesterday.. and it had to do with insulting (or trying to insult) someone personally. Not the usual 'death to america' insults. Or the 'Jesus was a drunkard' insults. But more like a "Mesmie is a (insert insult) and (insert insult) that has (insert insult).. etc.."

That was childish for two reasons:

1) nothing is really achieved through it except the breaking of rules.

2) it gets you banned.


Maybe he should be allowed back sometime soon BUT what would that say to anyone else who gets banned now? That they can have a thread opened and the ban lifted?

If ti3gib is clever enough, (and I'm sure he is), and not too proud (not sure about that one), he knows there is always a way to reconcile and fix things.

I think in regards to viewing that thread of all the listings of Christianity topics a Christian can take it as their religion being insulted. Look at it as if these topics were listing Islam issues instead with all the heated debates residing within each thread....how would you react? Walk a mile in someone else's shoes I think is what Thalia is saying. We can discuss this in another thread if you like if we want so that this one can remain as a petition but I can see where she is coming from.

This thread is locked, to avoid chit-chat, and you can simply send a PM to the admin and the team will talk about it.

I just want to say something here.

It's funny how in this day and age, insults and attacks are met with encouragement and applause like what is exactly happening here. His ban was not about muslims vs non muslims, his ban came after several warnings and insults to muslims and non muslims both alike. He was asked several times to stop, he was was warned many times to simply behave. Some of you might think that it's a unique 'style' that he has, that he's fun to have around, yes I admit I enjoyed reading some of what he had to say but there are lines and if those lines are crossed then I'm sorry, he will be treated like everyone else, no special treatment and no exceptions.

If ti3gib wants to come back (after a month passes), then he can send us an apology promising to behave and to stop his attacks and insults, and then the team might re-consider it's position, but till then the ban remains and no amount of petitions will lift it. When people make mistakes, they themselves should apologize for it and promise to be better people.

Ti3gib was given many many chances and the team turned a blind eye to much of what he said in the past. He had one warning left which was mentioned to him and he could have gotten a warning a long time ago but we tolerated because we didn't want to lose him, but I guess it was only a matter of time.

What's done is done, It is however if I may say, very interesting to know exactly the members that support a behavior such as his.
