Hello, any computer tech out there? i have a VHS cassette which i want to convert to a mpeg or any video file that could be accessible on the computer. is there a way for this? if so, where can i find it here in Oman?

Yes you can convert it to VHS if you have a Encoder card which is easily available in the market, Viz. All in wonder Pro or Miro Video which has an input/output Jacks. Where you can play your normal vhs and convert into AVI file and later you can convert AVI files in to MPEG, or some of the softwares whcihc comes with the card directly encode the tape in Video CD Format.

hi, thanks thanks thanks a bunch for the info, nice to hear someone with this information so soon. i was wondering is there is a computer store that would do the dirty work of converting the VHS to mpeg! do u have any idea about a place that would do it here in Oman?
