not sure if this thread is in the right place, or should it be in Visual arts??

this was few months back

the place was amazing, except that we werent prepared for the cold weather :XD:

we arrived at sunset, and went back home the next morning...

the road was great, but you need a good SUV/SUT to go there...

Unfortunatly i didnt take a Digi cam with me so most of the shots are with my mobile (some taken by my bro's digi cam)...

here are the pics:

Pretty. I like the pictures with the clay buildings and palm trees. Where is Wadi bani Ouf? And when was this? It looks quite windy in the third picture.

What kind of people live in that village? Are they poor? Do their children go away and get jobs in Muscat?

I wish I knew more about them.

But it's a stunningly lovely spot. If only it had a little Catholic church, it's the sort of place it would be wonderful to spend your last days in.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Jeff, they have satelite dishes if you notice ;). They are not poor, they are just village people.

And yes, we have a mosque there, you're always welcome to pray.

They are different classes of people living in villages. Alot of Omanis living in Muscat have relatives who lives back in the villages and go visit them all the time.

What I love about those villages is the closeness between people. You would find everyone knows everyone and they help each other in all occasions.

Some realllly nice shots you've got there AMARANT! :star:

Seems like a beautiful place! I know this might sound weird but I'm not quite sure if I've ever been to this place or not, since I visit so many places and if you've been out and about in Oman you'll soon figure out that you can easily mix places up since the scenery is pretty much the same in many towns/villages and there's rarely anything that makes differentiating between them easy :)

Thanks for sharing them here!

I think AMARANT missed a very important part in his report about his trip. He should have gave his impression about the people there.

Anyway, thank you for the photos.

went there again last week, and took more shots, and here are the directions (very simple):

- Drive to nizwa, then towards Bahla

- Turn right like your going to Al Hamra/ Al Hoota cave.

- Follow the directions to "Balad Sait/Wadi haat"

the road is paved till the top ;)

here are some pics i took this time:

you can reach the wadi using Al Batina road (Rustaq), or Al Dakhilyah road (Al Hamra)

the early group took the Batina Road, and it was much more rough then the other road, so they called us and advised us to take the Dakhliyah road (paved till the place we camped in)
