I got this in my email in Arabic, so im going to try to translate what I can. I apologize in advance for any translation mistakes or wrong websites.. mods feel free to edit if you notice anything. I tried to resize some of the logo's but couldnt and i thought adding them might help people browse more easily.

okay this whole grouping and site collection was done by a group of people with a guy called “Abu Ameer” and “Al Abdul Salam” or something under supervision of Oman society for petroleum service with the help of PDO and I think they already have a booklet with these websites, so its mostly oil and gas companies but am opportunity for people from all majors to apply for.

My recommendation for who ever looking for a job is just to give these sites regular visits or simply send a prospecting letter to their HR or on the email on Career and if your CV s good and simple… im definite you will be called for an interview.. good luck!

Applying online doesn't work people, not in Oman. You should take your CV and walk in to these place to get things done.

I agree with you. Most large companies say "check the website", and I will be honest, I am surrounded by fresh graduates and I know none who was actually hired because he/she applied for a job through the website.

Also, I agree, it might work for technical people, it worked for me when I applied for a position of software developer earlier last month. But not the majority of graduates, specially from non-technical majors.

For example, I applied online @ Bank Sohar awhile ago & they never bothered 2 reply me, while my friend, just coz the HR Incharge is related 2 her, she told her Y dont U apply with us, she asked her 2 bring her CV... so my friend gives her CV, next day she's called by a Departent Head & in another 1-2 days she called to get the job offer with a salary of RO.900/-....

Now isnt this un-fair !! Only coz she's related to the HR Incharge, then she gets everything with 3 days only, while other public citizen wait for ages...

Job Description

Requirements

Technical Competencies

Essential

Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng
Between 8 to 10 years experience, to include earthworks, drainage and roads.
Significant highways experience
Knowledge of MX Road.
Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, AutoCAD and project planning
Understanding of British, American and International design standards
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

Desirable

IEng or CEng qualification preferred
Arabic language skills
Previous experience in Middle East
Behavioural Competencies

Essential

Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way
Good report writing skills,
Experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
Ability to manage the workload of a team of engineers, technicians and surveyor

Responsibilities

Act as focal point for all matters relating to civil engineering design for various projects.
Working with the Head of Department to identify priorities an allocate and manage resources.
Coordinate with other Atkins resources in Oman and Middle East.
Coordinate with specialist consultants.
Coordinate with, instruct and supervise Civil and Structural Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians
Design Check and various design of reviews in accordance with Atkins Middle East Quality procedures
Be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work of the team
Manage engineering work within the agreed programme, if not
To understand and implement QA procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians
To coordinate with other design disciplines as required on a day-to-day basis or as set out by the project requirements
Writing reports and compiling technical data.
Carrying out client liaison
