I'm having this sleeping problem. On Sunday I was tired and went to sleep at about 12a.m. By 3a.m I was awake again and couldn't go back to sleep. So I stayed awake until 11p.m Monday where I went to sleep, same problem I woke up at about 3a.m.

The funny thing is I was really exhausted when I went to bed on Monday since I have had a very long day since I was awake since 3a.m and had too many classes in Uni.

So how can I fix that? Sleeping pills?

What are you usually doing before you go to sleep?

And no am against sleeping pills :p It's just a quick way out but it won't give a long term solution to your problem

get a bat, bang it on ur head n go in for two days.

what i do is, if situatioin like this, every evening, before the time u want to sleep, go out running, just make urself tired as hell, at the end of the run sprint the fastest, u kno better how to get tired lol! then u'll crash and wake up the next mornin, not in the middle. This ofcourse works with me, its good exercise too!

hope it helps, exercising is a solution to lot o probs!

Your internal sleeping clock is messed up. I suffer from this alot.

I usually stay awake till midnight, then go to bed and the plan is, to wake up at 7 am.
7 hours of sleep should be enough for me... but the kids wake me up at 4.30 am. So, I can either try and sleep again, but can't if they're gonna be up too.. or I can call it quits and just get out of bed.

It happens so often, last night being an example. I've been up since 5 am. I've had basically 4 hours of sleep, cos I slept later.

Then what happens? My internal clock starts to re-programme itself. I start waking up at 4 or 5 am automatically. And even though I'm tired, I can't sleep again.

And sleep during the day is impossible for me. Can't sleep in the light.

So, I resort to sleeping pills. Just until I get used to staying asleep the whole night again, usually after 2 or 3 days..

^^ what now we have compulsive waves and silent waves??

i agree with what silent waves says, but wont eating a heavy meal will put u in a deep sleep??

im not sure, but when i get that, i stay in bed, i dont try to wake up and watch TV or use the net at 3 am...

just stay in bed and u might sleep again :os

finally, a topic i like..
well rossonero.....sleeping disturbances can either be from depression or too much stress..
now as you said..you have too many classes... even if you are tired...you wont sleep because of too much that is going on. It could be that OR...something is bothering you.Deep deep...you need to ask yourself..what is really bothering you.
are you having some problems lately..any complications during your day?any exams?

i second this solution too lol

agh me too i have this problem, last night i just slept at 4:00 AM, i tried to get to bed early at 12:00 but couldnt sleep. and i don't want to resort to sleeping pills cause they may cause addiction and as pen it black said they won't help for the long time.

i think this is because there is no fix time in sleeping and whenever we sleep at the same time then we get used to it.

whevere you find a solution ross tell me about it :mmhmm:

There were some good suggestion in this thread, but most people went on about how this or that worked with them and might not work for everybody. Which is true!

But if you want something that'll surely work... melatonin is the answer ;)

This neurohormone which is produced by the pineal gland in the brain is solely responsible for sleep patterns and the circadian rhythm in humans. So a good dose of that ought to do wonders.

And don't even start with the potential side effects, because what you're trying to do here is against your bodies will in the first place :)
