View Full Version : Abortion
Leave religion aside and think of it from a different prospective, social one.
Are you with or against it?
Do you think it should be stopped? At what point of the pregnancy period you think its ok to get rid of the baby and what point you think it shouldn't be done?
--------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think abortion should be allowed since its taking away an innocent souls life.
Never!
Let nature take it's course. You have no right to take away life. No right to stop someone else from living.
In the case of rape, the only only thing I might agree with is the morning after pill. After that, nothing at all.
i am completely against it, it's taking someone else's life and this is a crime
i only agree for the abortion in one case, if the doctors say only one person should live, the mother or the baby. then i'll say yes for abortion.
meaning when there is no other option to make them live together
Pen_it_Black 22-01-08, 02:03 AM Totally against it. No one has the right to take away an innocent life. But am with El Rey about if the mother is in danger of the pregnancy.
minerva 22-01-08, 02:03 AM totally no for me...even if my life was at stake.
Theres 46 million abortions a year...
totally no for me...even if my life was at stake.
Ditto.. if it meant that the child would live.. I'd let nature take it's course..

It's the modern day inquisition.
i3u00n_ildenya 22-01-08, 03:01 AM I think it should be forbidden EVERYWHERE! I'm totally AGAINST it!
Superfreak 22-01-08, 03:04 AM I'm totally against it. It should never be done under any circumstances.
AMARANT 22-01-08, 03:07 AM Against it as well, as u all said, it's taking away an innocent life...
but i was thinking, what if the parents cant handle the child, like they r not married, and poor and it was a foolish and wild time and it happened??
the child will live in misery :os

but who are we to decide if that is not God's plan for it after all?
Who are we to decide that his chances won't get better or that he should die because they might not?
AMARANT 22-01-08, 03:35 AM ^^^ true true, u never know, his life might be much much better
I would say, its an option. Whoever wants to have a baby will ofcourse plan it. Whoever didn't plan, its a way out.
But what I believe is that if you can get knocked up, then get married to that person and make em live with the lovely mistake of a baby they made.
What if it was a rape and the girl got pregnant? anyone say no abortion to that?

First of all, a child should not pay for its parents mistakes.
Secondly, in a case of rape, or a really stupid and grave mistake.. there is a pill one can take that will stop the egg from being fertilised.. or will stop it from continuing to split, as it does in the very very beginning.. just before it becomes a fetus..
But once 24-48 hours have passed, I say leave it.
In many places this pill is illegal still.
ok, e.g. the girl doesnt know and is in shock miskeena (poor thing), doesnt take the pill or wateva, n becomes pregnant, then? there are some possibilities where you have to take certain steps. In this case if the child is born, how will her life be? not to mention the child's life too!
Arabian Princess 22-01-08, 03:26 PM If Allah has written for this child to come as a result of rape, then its Allah's plan. You never know what will happen and why did this happen.
Like Thalia said, let nature takes its course!

Let's just say that some cases would really be f'ed up. For example cases of incest.. where a father impregnates his own daughter.. if the pregnancy can be stopped from taking place, at the very very beginning, I'd go for it. But then and only then.

Charm has already said about leavin the religion aside, so we're talking other than religion here.

Exactly what I want to say, you just put it in more understanding words :D
yes riv.. but I wouldn't abort a fetus.. I wouldn't do anything if I leave it any longer than a day..
I mean, if you are raped, you know there's a risk. It's gotta be one of the first things that come to mind! So action should be taken to prevent it from happening STRAIGHT AWAY.
but YOU know this, not many people would know about it right?
I've watched a story on Oprah or someplace i don't remember, a girl is raped when she was 14, she got pregnant, she didn't know until the belly started to swell (is that right way to say it?). Now she has given birth to the baby and living but I think she had to leave school or something because they were poor and all.
See this girl didn't know about this kind of pill, and I'm knowing it now actually from reading your post that this can be done. I'm just saying, if people really think about it and don't need it, then they have no option after time's up from your way.
I'd agree with that option only if it threatens the life of his mother.. Otherwise it's a big NO

As a general rule, every girl of 10 should know how babies come about. She should know what sex leads to, even if it is forced. That is BASIC.. before even touching the subject of STD's.
Now, if a girl who is able to bear a child is raped, DOES NOT KNOW of the risk of getting pregnant, then a) the parents have failed in educating her b) it's very unfortunate
The strongest point here is that most people are unlikely to go running to someone to tell them what happened to them.. which should really be even more reason for sex education.
Once a girl has been raped, it should automatically start ringing big huge alarm bells. If they don't ring, she's either stupid, unconcious or ignorant about sex.
marianna 22-01-08, 07:08 PM I am for it if the woman was raped or if her life was in danger.
If the girl is say mentally challanged then I think in that instance she may have no idea how babies come about or what being pregnant means. In those cases I think that the guardian of the woman needs to find a way to deal with this situation because I honestly don't see how a mentally challanged girl could raise a child or even should.

i think in the case of rape or if she's mentally challenged, then i wouldn't judge the woman or her carers for opting for abortion, although if the decision was up to me, i wouldn't sleep for weeks fighting between common sense and my conscience.
marianna 22-01-08, 10:03 PM It would be a hard choice on that one because being a mom I think about the baby then I think about the unborn child and then I think about the girl who doesn't know what is going on. In the end I think if it is too late for an abortion...ie the baby is fully formed then is best to have the baby and then if the guardians cannot raise the baby then best to give it up for adoption. Really a hard choice I think...one I am grateful never to have crossed.
