Let's say you have Gas problems, you burp alot, chest pains and you feel that chest is congested.. you wanna see a doctor, but you wanna call in first and set an appointment.. who are you supposed to set an appointment with?

Like, pregnant women go to Gynos, people with teeth problems go to dentists.. what about people with gas problems?

You usually first make appointment with a general practitioner, they will assess your problem and then recommend a specialist. Some symptoms might appear one thing and turn out to be something else all together.

Find the closest GP to your place, check out his credentials, and register with him.

In Oman, I think you don't really have "General Practitioners" as a specialisation. The nearest equivalent is a doctor of "Family Medicine" - start there.

They are called: gastroenterologists:

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine where the digestive system and its disorders are studied. Etymologically it is the combination of Ancient Greek words gastros (stomach), enteron (intestine) and logos (reason).

Diseases affecting gastrointestinal tract (i.e. organs from mouth to anus) are the focus of this speciality. Doctors specialising in the field are called gastroenterologists. Important advances have been made in the last 50 years, contributing to rapid expansion of its scope.

(I had to see one several times)...they are specialists.

Minor health issues can be dealt with by a general practitioner (GP) & in case a specialist's assessment is required then the GP will further refer the case to a specialist

But as Marianna mentioned, they are called Gastroenterolgists, if that's a tongue twister than just ask for a G.I specialist

But not everyone who burps or farts a lot needs to see a GI specialist
