View Full Version : Members changing nicknames
The brain. 13-01-08, 07:34 PM I’m just curious to know, what is the quick way to know the members who just change their nicknames? rather that going through all celebration announcement Sabla posts
And can we have a sticky post that includes keep the records of all changes?
NicoBambi 13-01-08, 07:42 PM Hmm.. what for ?
If a member want to announce.. s/he announces it..
The quick way ? go in their profile.. and check out their old post/thread..
Maybe it would be a good idea for the user to have their previous nickname in their title for a week or two..

Haroundb 13-01-08, 10:39 PM To my knowledge (distorted knowledge) those members who have changed their nicknames were either:
Those who wanted to change something in their names keeping the original theme inside. So it won't be difficult to locate them.
Those who wanted to make a new start and 'really' it is very good idea to keep the past unknown rather than opening a can of worms or a tomb of an ancient cursed mummy!
Still this is a very good idea only a man with a brain would think of it.. a registry for changed altered nicknames.
I second that.

You pm the member and say "hey you sound familiar but who are you"
If is a female just add "just curious dnt think am flirting with you "
Making a sticky thread and updating it everytime someone changes his/her nickname will be the appropiate solution, I think. :)

My cat ate all da ducks around
The brain. 14-01-08, 06:44 PM To be honest what I noticed, the response of members is far better than moderators..:o
What privacy has to do with this, I dont event think that members who change their nick are a shame of the previous nicks. but to be realy flexible members who think it part of privacy the can notify mods
They do it mostly because as the time change, they like to change ‘ its like home furniture or paint ’ although it change the look but it doesn’t change the house itself…
Not all members are continuously watching out the ‘changing nickname’ events or have the time to go search old post for that members, hell which age are we in!!
In fact I think many of these members would like to refresh their memory back and forth and would like others as well to know about there historical posts with their old nicks

amo_l_oman 14-01-08, 07:16 PM Add the am not flirting thing also if he is male
He might be gay so there's no misunderstanding
What privacy has to do with this
Nick change is soul change
As far as I know the a member who changed his/her nickname MUST post a thread in the Announcements Sabla !
