Highlights include:

At a news conference Mr Bush said there should be "an end to the occupation that began in 1967".

"The agreement must establish Palestine as a homeland for the Palestinian people, just as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people," he added.

The Israelis say they would not have chosen some of the language Mr Bush used - the word "occupation" is something with which Israeli governments have always had difficulties.

Can't imagine why anyone would not want two countries to live peacefully side-by-side...

It is cool how each state has a motto (The Show Me State is informal--a nickname) “Show Me State” A name attributed to Representative Willard Van Diver. It conotates a certain self-deprecating stubbornness and devotion to simple common sense. :

But in regards to the topic....politicians are good with words...albeit Bush could use some lessons....it is action I await.

I was very pleasantly surprised to discover the 'Show me' attitude shown by certain people when I attended Mardi Gras at New Orleans about 14 years ago..........

..........back to topic!

Many people seem to think that Bush is a liar.....

To those of you who think this...........do you think Bush is lying when he says these things?

I saw it coming but I was like...hmmmm NOT....but then yes it was.

I don't trust most politicians and I never trusted Bush. Sometimes things are said to calm parties down. I believe in being a man or woman of your word.

Nothing is going to change.

The Arab powers are going to sit on their ***. And the radical Muslim groups are going to make sure "Peace" never happens.

And they will both agree, it is not their fault.

Business as usual.

Hmm.

Well, I read a lot of history. You know, the kind of stuff where it all comes out because we have everybody's letters and diaries and the minutes of meetings and all.

And the surprise is not that there is dishonesty in politicians...there is a lot of that.

The surprise is how relatively little of it there is in so many of them and how often they are honest and trying to do a good job.

The dirt in politicians is basically just the dirt in people in general stuck under a magnifying glass.

You know when the Israelis and Palestenians are gonna find solutions?
When pigs fly.
When Pigs Fly!
There, the most boring cliche of the English language.

Pin, I think that after fifty years or more of conflict, it's logical to figure out that it won't be solved when someone says it should be solved. It will be solved when ALL PARTIES have a wish for peace and reconciliation and new 'division' of land. Right now, they don't.

Who's both ?

Both refers to the only two groups that I mentioned.

Correct me if I am wrong, but all the problems in the Middle East are caused by non-Muslims and foreigners, right?

You do realized that you haven't mentioned Israel once right ?

You do realized that you haven't mentioned Israel once right ?

Umm, ok...

Israel hosts the US President who then says that Israel should withdraw from the occupied territories on behalf of the Palestinians.

Happy?
