If you are having trouble keeping things in perspective, just look at these comparisons.
THIS is really fascinating - it's rather dazzling to see it presented this way.

I certainly thought this was enlightening. beyond our sun ...

It's a big universe.

Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.
It is more than 1000 light years away.

Now how big are you? And how big are the things that upset you day to day?
Or for that matter, the things that are important?
Keep life in prospective.

If you have a big problem, and you are desperate don't say Oh my God I have a big problem

you should say Oh my problem I have a BIG God.

Each of us has problems, solving it prepares you for the next one. If the next one is easier, then u are fine, if its tougher its learning, and life goes on.

By the way, nice pics, nice thought

I don't think that's an actual map of the galaxy TTT lol. "Oh no, Betelgeuse is almost on us....aaaargh"!

Anyway, we'll get burned first. Hmm...you think that's what global warming is about? It's not greenhouse gases, it's Beetlegeuse rolling towards us along a big celestial table!

Hehehe. Sorry T,...silly mood.

If the earth at some point is invisible, then I'm not there to answer that question lol.

Anyway, really an interesting thing to keep in mind when it comes to facing problems and also when it comes to respecting others.

So, thank you for bringing this up. :star:

I just got a shiver down my spine. How tiny are we humans in the final pic if the Sun is 1 pixel.

Very cool presentation :cute:

^^

The "Pale Blue Dot" is a photo of earth taken from about 4 billion miles away:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_Blue_Dot

I don't understand why some people who believes in all this modern astronomy and all the pictures and observations from space and from earth spend their time trying to prove that the moon landing was a hoax...

Weird.

The most amazing thing about that picture is that it shows the Earth as simply a pixel of information in the vast universe...Which is just so mind-blowing to look at.

Well somebody had to Mrs T, didn't they?! Thought I'd better acknowledge it in case you thought the whole world was asleep as well as "pixel sized" - at least now you know someone else checked out Uranus ;)

You've been on Uranus then? Sounds extermely hard to believe. Was there any water atleast? Or just gas? :hyper:

mimosa

I thought it might be rude to move straight to a deep probe, and it's never polite to mention the gas...but I thought a lady of your advanced years might enjoy the fact that Uranus still draws some observation. :D
