Wow. child labour! It's very sad to see this, but I guess the world will never change and some people are just too desperate.

Desperate people is not the problem...the problem is the kid cannot afford to live if he doesnt work...

hmm...okay...cuz i thought they were lost everywhere in the world...well atleast the countries i have been to...i have always seen kids working...

there are countries where kids work for pocket money, and others where kids work to feed their parents...

Yeah,Faith I juz wanted to say that 2.
I think their parents r using them, coz they r nt suppose to take such responsibility in v. young age.

but as sameerb1 said
the problem is the kid cannot afford to live if he doesnt work...

That's terrible.

Makes you greatful that you weren't born into such a situation.

What's even worse though, is that if the parents KNOW they can't afford to feed children.. if they KNOW how bad the situation is, why keep making more and more babies?

i think after seeing that....we should all say...Alhamdulilah for everything and life that we live:)

This reminds me of a situation in Saudi Arabia...not sure if it's child labor though, correct me if I'm wrong.
There would be kids walking around the streets with their arms cut-off begging for money. We were told that sometimes their parents or whoever's raising them cut-off their arms on purpose in order for people to take pity on them and give them cash.

it looks sad, but that's good for him, he will be a such great man in future :)

such people become wise and experienced, who can stand life difficulties easily :)

bless those children labours

i dunno why...i dont find child labor a problem...if our society cant afford to send the kids to schools...its allrite for them to work as well...

if we were a better society...we would as individual help these kids grow...i mean how many of us are using our spare money to buy stuff which we barely use...

we buy designer cloths for 100's of rials just for one nite...if only once we instead of spending that money on ourselves for no reason spend on just one child...how beautiful this world will become..

Why the government not taking any steps toward that ?
They can offered them an elegance jobs suit their ages and conditions !

Seeing such kid it's really heart-breaker.

These were some really sad and touching pics sameerb1. However I suppose these pics were taken in some very poor village in a third world country somewhere in Far East Asia, which shouldn't come as a very big surprise.

Child labor should not be justified by lack of funding by the government, nor lack of education. I guess the only cases where it should be accepted is if the child is the only means for the family's survival.

7abeebi (sweetie), he's just so young. :(
i remember going to India when i was little, and it was really awful. poor kids.

regarding the kids in Sarooj, i once saw a car dropping them off, lol.
i guess they know where rich people hang out.

That's very sad, very very sad! I guess it's what happens when people are in desperate need; both the parent and child work!
