Here’s the scenario:

There’s this guy in DeviantArt whom keeps posting shots of the Qura’an and self-portraits of himself reciting the Qura’an or reading Du3a’s (Someone translate). Anyways, this member gets defensive to the extreme, or lets see he’s more of a person whom looks for anything that resembles that it’s from the west in order to criticize the work. For instance, I’ve once posted a shot of a wedding cake and this is what he said:
isn't this a wedding cake like non-Muslims do which Muslims started imitating and left nothing ?
However, we got into an argument after that, and it was pointless arguiying with him so I just kept my mouth shut, not something I’d do usually. In another case, I posted a self-portrait of me taking a camera shot, my face wasn’t shown, the shot was mainly concentrated on the camera itself. His reply:
You have no dignity
Finally, what really got into me is his reaction towards something I’ve said to him today, although I said it in a polite manner. He posted a blog entry regarding people whom post nudity, that if he observes any posts of nudity from his friends list he will block them immediately. Anyways, I was like: Sorry, but sometimes I think your more of "mathahir" It's, like your trying so hard to expose your relationship with God to others. At the end of the day, the type of relationship you share with your creator is only between you and him. I don't mean to be rude or anything of that sort, it's just an opinion. He replied me back in an extremely shocking manner saying:

If you said that in front of me in person I would have spit on your face. I will say nothing to you, keep your comments to your self. Your so brainwashed by the west and you think your opinions mean something to us and by us I mean the people who care about going to paradise. You think I want people to see how I am with God ? I am myself and I don't care how people think about me neither how you think about me.

your are just one person that means nothing !

Anyways, to justify what I said, it’s because this guy is just 20 most of his posts are about attacking people about agreeing with his beliefs. I find this extremely awkward, because it’s like he’s forcing and being rude and all that, this is not the way to convince someone into Islamic views.

This is sooooooooooooooo double-standard. On one point, 'You have no dignity' and on the other, 'I would have to spit in your face'.

Well let's just say you won't be one person Juveentinya...Though I doubt even twenty people telling him he's stupid (ahem, his VIEWS are stupid) would convince him of it. Stupid people don't like knowing they're stupid.

This is one of the dangers with religious absolutism. All of us who believe in the real objective truth of our religions carry the risk of becoming like this.

And here is how it happens:

1. You are convinced that your religion is true.

2. So you have to defend its truth.

3. In order for you to defend its truth, you feel you cannot compromise. Everything has to be clear. If it isn't clear, then you feel you are compromising on the truth.

4. So you look for clear answers about every single thing.

5. And if the answers are clear, then the people who don't recognize them are almost certainly dishonest or bad, right?

Conveniently, though, that makes YOU the judge of everybody else in the world. Your sight is perfect; your honesty is pure. But you don't see it that way. To you, it's all "clear".

I think in the end you do the exact opposite of what you start out trying to do:

You end up replacing God with Yourself.

Your word mahathir is an interesting one. We Christians call it the Sin of Spiritual Pride. And it's the worst sin of all.

That's the sin that made the Devil fall. And it turns us into little Devils. Even if we are following all the rules, we are missing the heart.

God protect me from the fate of being like one of these. And God touch and change their hearts.

Just avoid the guy. Perhaps say a prayer for him. But avoid him.

I must agree with you on that! Its odd how some people's minds operate :os How on earth do you expect someone to listen to your views if you present it in an unwelcoming manner?

To you, there are things that are arguable and people might disagree.

To him, every single thing is absolute and anyone who rejects it is Wicked and UnIslamic.

I'm with you, he's extreme, but what you said wasn't right. It's in a polite manner, but I think you said it when you were angry, you should've calmed down before writing it. You provocated his anger when he is a person who is angry enough. You do realize that you called him a hypocrit? That's why he was so offended.

What about this, be the better person, send him a message apologizing and tell him you'd like to hear his advice, and why you didn't accept it at first.

Tell him that one of the manners of advice is to say it privately, and there's a very nice poetic verse you could write down, will clear out what you'll be trying to say:
تعهدني بنصحك في انفرادي وجنبني النصيحة في الجماعه

فإن النصح بين الناس نوع من التوبيخ لا أرض استماعه

فإن خالفتني وعصيت قولي فلا تغضب إذا لم تلق طاعه
