The fear of beautiful women.

This has got to be by far the worst phobia ever. Ever. I suppose this would be a hard to classify phobia though as beautiful to one is not always beautiful to another… and if you agree that all women are beautiful… well, then people with caligynephobia live in a very scary world!

To add insult to an already distressing condition, most caligynephobia therapies take months or years and sometimes even require the patient to be exposed repeatedly to their fear. We believe that not only is this totally unnecessary, it will often make the condition worse. And it is particularly cruel as caligynephobia can be eliminated with the right methods and just 24 hours of commitment by the phobic individual.Yes I do and am looking forward to treatment ... repeatedly!

I've never been afraid of beautiful women, although I admit that I was very intimidated by the incredible beauty of one girl in my life. Of course, that was before we got to know each other. I'd stand at the bus stop where we'd bump into each other summoning up the courage just to say hello.

It took my pansy *** 2 weeks, lol.

No, I am not :D! I think this phobia was invented by some jealous women and they brainwashed and convinced their husbands to believe that they were caligynephobic :p

i think this phobia is necessary in our lives to Attain the balance between loving both the beautiful and the ugly. if men only love beautiful women then what is the fate of ugly women? for the sake of humanity, i support caligynephobics by all means!

I have sometimes been afraid of a really ugly woman.

But beautiful women..well, I was only even bothered about not having one ;)

But as you said before, what is beautiful to one may not be considered as beautiful to another. This in itself maintains the balance.

But how are they considered unlucky? I mean it could be a double edged sword. As in she'll be able to lure many men but she'll lure not only the good kind but also the worse kind..

When am not on my best shape I don't like mixing with people who I know would look good 24/7 men or women no difference to me.

I don't fear incredibly beautiful women, I just don't date that type of women, I try not to blend with them much. No specific reason for that though!

I think the ones who are "intimidated" or "Fear" beautiful women are the ones that can SOMETIMES get taken advantage of..

I think that insecure men are afraid of beautiful woman because they may rationalize (wrongly so) that such beauty is unattainable to them.

Insecure women are afraid of beautiful women because they may feel that if the two were in the same room together the other woman's light would shine from her beauty while the insecure woman may feel as if she is withering under the shadow of the other...plus yes jealousy issues because insecurity leads to jealousy.

seriously, really beautiful women have problems with dating and getting the good guys. because the good guys feel intimidated. and whilst beauty does come from within, an externally beautiful woman has massive problems showing she's beautiful inside as well. sometimes people judge her as being otherwise just because she's stunning by nature on the outside.

I think at the end of the day, it is fate that brings two together. Men who feel fearful of beautiful successful women, will feal the same way with ugly ones once he is commited to any of them. Cuz the problem is really not on how a women looks like, but how the man looks at him self. If he is not confident and see him self not good enough that a beautiful women will stick to him instead of all other guys. Or if he wants her just to be according to his own command, without arguments just like a house keeper then that what he will get. He finds this will make him happy, so why not go for someone less then him in every thing. On the other hand, some men just think the oppsite.

to be honest i dont thing the fear is from the women herself, the fear could be from "falling for her with no consciousness"; causing the fear of beautiful women. especially if the man had an experience of falling for someone with no consciousness and living some bad moments to regret.
its like... the fear of fire, not because of its beautiful color, but because it burns out your skin if you were unconscious.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder. Its inside which matters not outer layers of endless makeup!

Beautiful women don't scare me or intimidate me in anyway. It's my job to make women beautiful, so my reaction to one is appreciation of such beauty.

Easy way to fix this problem: Marry her.

If she's bad from the inside, you won't see her beautiful anymore. And even if she's good from the inside, after having children she won't be as threateningly beautiful anymore.

I don't think minerva is talking about herself, even though I do think she is beautiful, inside and out. She already has a good guy, and she's the mother of his kids ofcourse. :D

Maybe there are some cultural differences here, but I have never thought that good looking women are perceived as easy. Maybe that is gossip that other women like to spread about them?
