View Full Version : I've a Skin Rash!!
So, I woke up the other day with a rash under my eye; more precisely on my eye bag. My eye bag has turned redish/black and the texture is dry and flaky. Thank god, I've a concealer to hide its hideousness!
Does anyone know what I should do to treat it quickly especially that Eid is around the corner, and I have lots of weddings to attend. I can't go looking like someone has punched me in the eye :inno: Or is the best solution to visit a dermatologist? Even though I can't do that right now since we've the Eid holidays coming up and every private clinic will be closed for a couple of days.
Help :os
WoLF DoLL 18-12-07, 12:16 AM Omg, I'm really sorry to hear that. I wish I could help, but you'll never know what's wrong and how to cure until you visit a doctor.
Sorry again
Haha, I was hoping for someone to come up with some herbal home made solution like honey with milk and perhaps some green thingies and walla, perfecto :inno:
does it occur frequently or first time?
do u get creamy secretions (pus) specially in the morning.. and do u get sticky eye lashes in the morning..
any itching..
it depends on the rash and its look, size,...
most probably it is conjuctivitis which can be viral, bacterial or due to contact lenses
eye ointment/drops can be applied depending on the cause and severity: antibiotics or topical corticosteroids, anti-inflammatory (anti-histamine, olopatadine hydrochloride, ketotifen fumarate)....
No, it is the first time. There is no pus and my eye lashes are not sticky during the mornings. It is just the skin under my eyes that is infected. My actual eyes is fine, Al Hamdullilah. The size is about a 50 bz coin, all around the bottom of my left eye. As I said before, it does not look bad, but when you touch it, its pretty dry and flaky. It does not itch either.
And yes, I do wear contact lenses.
How do eye drops help the skin around my eye? I thought eye drops are only for the eyes, or is it also helpful for rashes around the eye?
i3u00n_ildenya 18-12-07, 03:00 AM The other day, I was just sitting down, nothing wrong with me, and I felt my neck, there was a lil brownish rash on it, it disappeared a few days after, but then it came on the other side of my neck, now its alright. Cute_ting said its because of winter and all, but it's the 1st time it ever happened to me, and I also got it on the knuckles.
I think you just need to use eye drops and not cream because it can effect your eye sight. :cute:

Do you have history of any other eczeima?
the way you describe it, it sounds like an eczima .. if it is, temporary you can use a cream called E45 .. it will make the skin less dry and less noticiable.
Nothing you can do about it, I think it needs only few days but try not to touch it with your hand.
Hopfully, eating Eid meat will help also.

Lym, it's difficult to diagnose someone without looking at the lesion but I would put my money on: Allergic contact dermatitis
Do you also have a history of Eczema?
Angel_Eyes 18-12-07, 10:57 AM Lym, did you try any new creams or makeup recently? maybe you are having an allergic reaction.
i thought u meant the skin under the eyelid, the skin contacting the eye.
yeah as AP and hitman said it migth be ACD (Allergic contact dermatitis).
apply cold compresses with clean water for acute symptoms.
regarding medication, as i said it depends on teh cause and it's severity..
oral antihistamin, the sedative one used for sore throat, can be used as a symptomatic relief. However, u must be careful that some of these agents can cause ACD specially the topical one (which are applied to skin).
medical treatment,u should consult a doctor to get the correct drug. it migth eb that u are having eczema...
No, I don't have a history of eczema. I never had it and I rarely get rashes.
Fahad, I am talking about the area of the eye bag (i.e. below the eye and on top of my cheek).
Hitman, it's not that bad. The picture is :os. This is more subtle and mild and I can easily cover it up with concealer.
AE, I don't recall trying any make up or cream. Perhaps one of my sisters cream.
Anyways, I went to Muscat Pharmacy and they gave me some sort of ointment of "Dermatologica" or something like that. I will see how that goes and come back with the report in a couple of days.
