Just wondering... Is it okay to a have a pain killer before the pain/attack/incident actually occurs or strikes?!

For example:
You know that everytime you board a plane, you get a headache. Can you take a panadol a few minutes before you go on a plane to avoid getting a headache?... and will the pill work?!

I don't think it should be a problem. From what I know, pain killers basically reduce the sensation of pain. Its not like it searches your body for pain and treats it, it simply relaxes your sensons probably in the brain so you don't feel the pain all that much.

I am not a Doctor, so lets wait and see what the real Doctors on the forum say :p.
