For all those who work and those who don’t work but have a vision for it:

Considering the fast and vast job opportunities in the job market right now, how long do you think you should stay in one organization before THINKING of looking for another place to work.
And when that time comes and if the only reason which is going to make you move from your job is the money, then how much percentage of your total salary will make you consider moving, of course considering that you are going to move to a similar position with similar benefits.

I keep on thinking about and I keep on getting different answers every time so what do you think ?.

There isn't a well defined time span that an employee could consider as a decent time to leave the organization, it all matters on the objectives & the goals he/she wanted to achieve by joining that particular organization in the first place

And when that time comes and if the only reason which is going to make you move from your job is the money, then how much percentage of your total salary will make you consider moving, of course considering that you are going to move to a similar position with similar benefits.

Undoubtedly, the wages play a crucial role, I would say 25% of my total salary should be a good enough reason to switch, given the fact that I'd have at least the same working conditions as my previous job

how long do you think you should stay in one organization before THINKING of looking for another place to work.govermental wise: i think the long you stay the higher chance you get promoted and usually you have to stay way long and be patient to reach the chair you seek

privat: stay till you stop taking or moving to a better or higher place if more than a year you have been doing the same thing and no promotion flags up then better think of some other place

And when that time comes and if the only reason which is going to make you move from your job is the money, then how much percentage of your total salary will make you consider moving, of course considering that you are going to move to a similar position with similar benefits.50% but if there is a slight increase and the working environment and other things i like about my old job arent the same then i wont make it...doesnt worth the risk i think

.. moving from an org. to another, I guess I would stay for sometime till I get used to the "work" lifestyle and to get some sort of experience!!.. 3 years maybe!!

.. again if there is a chance of a good package or offer from another org. then I will just move straight forward.. how much is the difference in term of money.. emm 30%-35% is okay I guess!!

.. then again, other aspects are counted in!!

I guess you are right somehow Hitman, and the percentage is quiet reasonable.
But its becoming different now in our job market, most of the highly skilled working generation (let say around 30's of age) they change job almost every 3 years or even less. and working generations (below age of 30) change job for much less than that time period.

So it means of course that the chances of upgrading or getting a better ranking within the same organization are slimmer than most of the people think.

But Sweet, don’t you think that 50% is killing any chance that you might think of moving, of course considering that you are fairly paid for whatever existing job you have.
I wont offer someone 50% more unless he/she is an exceptional case or he/she is not paid well in the first place

To tell you the truth, this is right ! ( at least of what I see and have been through )

The logical time to be in an organization is to get the experience that you are looking for, there is no room for you to learn any more or get promoted any more !

As Hitman said, 25% - 30% is what can reasonable increase that someone is looking for in another chance where higher than that won't work unless you are a famous genius : p and mainly depend on you qualification and experiences

I wont offer someone 50% more unless he/she is an exceptional case or he/she is not paid well in the first place Im special  and maybe i wont take less cause im already paid very well and Im learning everyday from where im, so there is no reason actually that would make me consider moving unless it is 50%! less than that isn't better for me cause it is not just the little amount of money but other things like training, benefits, bonus...etc should be taken in account :cute:

Sweety, are you referring to 50% of your total or basic salary?
