so i had my 1st Laser session yesterday (saturday)...
after the operation, i was dizzy, due to the drugs, but in a while i was fine and i even drove back home by myself...
as time passes, i felt weaker and weaker, like the drug effect is getting stronger!! :help:
then at 11 pm, it reached the top, i was 99% Paralyzed! could hardly move my fingers!
my dad n bro carried me (litteraly) to the emergency room...
the Doctors didnt know what's wrong with me, and just gave me some few shots and at 5 am i was back home...
I'm feeling much better now, like it was just a bad dream...
anyone can confirm if this was cuz they gave me an overdose shot?? that's my only explination :help:

ESWL is a safe procedure done under local anaesthesia thus complications are rare
However, a systemic toxicity may result from the local anaesthesia which will lead instability of your vital signs (change in blood pressure, heart rate et al) & can lead to the symptoms & signs you've suffered from
It's very unlikely that you were given higher doses, you were just unlucky to have had the side effects of anaesthesia
Glad to see you well again
OMG my ARMANI gone pralaized!!!!, btw wut kind of laser crap was it?!?!?

You concured what I initially said
You were just unlucky this time to have had what you went through, rare, but does happen, one bad bad experience out of six, I would say you were lucky actually rather being the opposite

ESWL uses shock waves, to be more specific
By the way, you were under local anaeasthesia or just sedation?

good luck for tomorrow :D
So hitman, are these side effects dangerous? As in, what would have happened had he not been taken to hospital and given the shots (that I'm imagining were adrenaline but I could be very wrong here..)
I've never heard of such effects from anesthesia before... but it's good to know.

the feeling is getting back, im feeling weaker and weaker by the minute :(
my dad says he might admit me in the hospital till all this is over...
so if i dont post 4 the next few days, i'll be in the hospital...

It is difficult to say what he exactly went through wihtout knowing his vital signs & getting a baseline ECG done & I doubt he was given Adrenaline, if he was given that he would have been admitted for observation & not discharged so fast

You should have discussed it with your Dr to find out whether these symptoms are related to direct side effects of ESWL or the local anaesthesia/sedation you were given
This is terrible. I'm so sorry, ARAMANT, I'll keep you in my prayers...
Come back soon and tell us you're okay.
Get well soon dear :flower:

Well, now we know not to complain about a lil muscle pain, or something like that, when not feeling anything in your body is worse, and useless!
oh may, thats kinda scary.. :(
hope you get well soon AMARANT

thanks for the support guys/gals :)
im feeling better now :)
glad to hear it amarant.
My husband saw his doc yesterday and he told him he could either remove the stone by surgery, or by shock waves. The thing with the shock treatment is that you still have to pass the stones via urine.
Let me know how you go with that.. because that is what is putting him off doing the treatment you are having.
Also, they want to put him under complete sedation.. I think it's better..

aha hope ur husband gets well soon...
passing stones through isnt that painful, i would choose that over pipe surgery (if that's the case with ur husband),,,, pipe surgery is very tiering and removing the pipe is the most painful thing
will update u with everything when i can ....

ah the pipe thing is if a stone gets stuck in it.
His kidney stone is "floating" about in the kidney itself. And it's too large to pass.

i didnt write the update......
i had the same drama last week on saturday, doctors say it might be because of the local astesia...
a friend of my father will try to admit me to the hospital today...
AMARANT

finally out of the hospital :D
hitman, ur analysis was correct, the local astesia was the reason...
im not good at medical stuff but here's what i got:
they used another drug in my last operation (amvin amov somthing) instead of the (trouma) and it went well, absolulty no side effects or anything else...
they r gonna use this type with me from now on
Great news!! Inshallah you always feel good and never have to go back to any hospital :flower:
