After Gonu hit Oman, many people started picking on "where" to invest their money.. I am talking about lands..
So now that you know where the flow of wadi heads and know which areas get damaged in these circumstances, where about in Oman would you buy your lands for the purpose of investments?
I heard people are heading towards Saham since nothing happened there, and also because it's a growing city. What other places do you know about? And do you have any idea about their prices?
Thanks :)
Batinah region (especially Sohar) were very much sought even before Gonu hit Oman & the prices of real properties there were rising in continuity during the last couple of years or so
Regarding Muscat, there is no doubt that after the destruction caused by Gonu, people will avoid lands in certain locations where properties are prone to damage
Dhahira region (Buraimi) is my second favourite city after Muscat & it's just a couple of minutes drive from Al-Ain (UAE), certain close people have already sold their lands they got from the government in Al-Amerat (600 m2), worth O.R 8,000 on an average) & have bought lands in Buraimi with the same price or a bit cheaper & bigger in size (800-900 m2)

Investment in land business grew alot during the last few years.. as Hitman mentioned people will be avoiding certain locations in Muscat to buy property in cause of what happened.. Sohar is very tempting place to buy cause of the booming industrial area there..
If you are looking for a fast return on your investment.. the best places to buy is on the outskirts of Muscat.. like in Barka or Mawaleh.. these are the natural extension of Muscat and the growth will hit them before other areas..
Other places to invest in are near the beach-side projects such as The Wave and Blue City.. after opening these projects, the land prices will increase significantly..
Well it doesnt really matter where you try to run away from mother Natural.. if it ought to happend it will happend even in higher up mountains!!!
^ lol, it's true but our main problem in Oman is the Wadi's.
I agree on Hitty's points up there.
