Why pay for a software which is overrated & almost a crap?!

Get a free one, maybe avast! (http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html)

Well known doesn't make it the best. Some people can't really tell when it comes to this.

Nortan's aim is server protection more than releasing good softwares for home use.

LosT_SouL, much better! I have never faced a problem with viruses since I installed it.

TripleTee, the edition of your Windows being Home or Professional has nothing to do with the version of avast!, unless we are talking about software compatibility, which isn't the case here.
So you can simply install it!

I dumped Norton 6 years ago and have never looked back.

AVG has not let in a single virus since then.

AVG is the best and I have been using it for months now. It has a built-in Firewall and spyware scanner. And the best thing is, its not effective, but you don't feel its even there :p

AVG RULESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

look at this report that have been made on feb 2007 that might help you to decide which is better.

Marvel, I don't know about that. But I am very satisfied with AVG so far. I had this stupid Godzilla worm and Kaspersky and Avast didn't detect or delete it. I got AVG, and tried it myself. And AVG got rid of it.

And as I said, no anti-virus is 100%, but considering the resources others consume, AVG rules!

Godzilla was a malware & not a worm/virus. avast! is just an anti virus, even though myself I never got Godzilla in my computer at the first place.

Well there you go. Another reason to use AVG :p It even detects malware which avast! and Kaspersky overlook. Btw, Godzilla is very annoying so it can't be take lightly.
