Have you ever wondered why some weight losing/fat burning diets contains significant amounts of calcium, vit. D and magnesium...

some of us don't take those diets but have their own ways of losing weight..then u should consider taking supplements of those elements.

the process of fat burning (lipolysis) can be danger depending on its speed. A very fast lipid burning can cause increase blood acidity (acidosis from ketone bodies) and thus may affect the kidneys.....

Moderate fat burning like in weight losing programs is associated with loss of bone density and altered immune system.....

This is why it is advised to increase calcium+vitD intake during weight loss programs to maintain bone mass and prevent osteoporosis (age dependent). Magnesium supplement helps in controlling the inflammatory cytokines release (fat cell releases immune products).

Thanx...

DP... sugar is the main signal of insulin release in the body....

maintaing blood glucose levels is the liver priority to keep supplying the brain with energy (mainly glucose)... Therefore, in diet lacking carbohydrate, the body shifts into a fasting state in which it tries to convert many substances specially proteins into glucose.

In addition, low carbs diet also induces lipid because of the reason mentioned above....This is well noticed in Eskimos since their diet is mainly fat and protein and lacks carbohydrates.
