Was there ever a time that occured to you, that you would be much happier if you were a man (if you're a woman), or a woman (if you're a man)?

to be frank , you could say when i was younger . I used to say if i was a guy i would be much much happier. But now, not really .. I am Satisfied :-) and i enjoy being a girl ! lols

ya i remember once when i was watching this show about a woman giving birth to a child, then i thought that i wont go through this if i was born a man .. but they're just words, not that i really want to EW :P

Sometimes I really do think I would be a happier person if I was a man especially in a place like the middle east. I envied that guys are given almost complete freedom, they go in and out of the house as they please. If they do something wrong, it is not held against them for the longest time and their reputation is not easily tarnished. Also, when you go through the "discomfort" process of being a woman naturally. Haha, I can only imagine, if I am giving birth, I would instantly want to be a man so the pain would disappear.

It just seems that men have so much more fun in Oman. They can swim in the beaches, and play football topless. They can meet up with their friends almost whenever, and smoke shisha if they want, without having people talk about them. They can have girlfriends where many won't think much of them, but all the "talk" would be about the girl, not the guy. It's mere things like that, but then I love the fact that I can experience motherhood (inshallah) which is nothing short of a miracle. I like the fact that I can dress up and in my bad days, be able to wear make up to make myself look beautiful without being labeled gay. I also like that if I don't like my shortness, I can easily wear heels to correct what I don't like about my self.

For God's sake, guys don't wear make up, and they almost always look better than us when we wake up in the morning. For one, they don't have to wax their whole body which by the way is very painful, and not only that, every 3 weeks! Plus threading your upper lip and constantly trying to look nice. All that is hard work. Guys can have a 5 minute shower, throw on a shirt, with faded jeans. And bam, they can look good. Now more than ever, it is easier for them to be fashionable and good looking; the messy hair and the dirty look, anyone? (the joy of not having to shave every two days!)It's all fashion trends now. Stupid us, maybe we should make it fashion not to wax or something. Spare ourselves some of the hardships of being a woman. lol

yup some days did pass by me shouting: "IF I WAS A MALE THEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS OR THAT" but then some days passed by me saying: "female's lifes are much intresting" , "i love being a female", "wooow that bag is sooo nice if i was a male i would be called a gay because i put an eye on it" :D

ps: am not saying i wish if i was a girl, but you girls do get some special treatment.

I would never EVER want to EVER feel compelled to scratch my groin in public. Also, walking with the most sensitive part of my body squished between my legs is not a notion I would even like to entertain.

Therefore, I am 100% glad I am woman, because Thank God, I do not feel any less able than a man, I don't feel I have any less rights or any less fun. Plus, if men knew how beautiful childbirth is, they would kill for it. There is nothing greater that you can ever do for your kids. Ever.

On the other hand, I won't want to even be a DEAD woman in the ME. Sorry, but it's like so Anti-Fengy. lol

I wish I was a man on a few occasions.

1) When I am out and I need to pee.
2) When I have a really tight jar to open. (I have to buy myself a jar opener!)
3) When I have something very heavy to carry.

Otherwise, no, I'm happy being a girl. I find the female form a lot more attractive and appealing than the male form.

That is not the point. Yes, the girl can do anything she want, but the consequences of her actions are greater than lets say if a guy does it. Her reputation would be worth nothing if she does everything I mentioned above. It's our society dude :)

I can't think of one single advantage of being a girl in our society, so no..I am happy to be a guy.

I love traveling, im an out going person, i love to stay late at night outside.. i love to live..

1 thing i wish we guys can do, have hand bags, purses, i get aanoyd when i need 2 carry 2 phones, a wallet, sunglasses, a pen, flash disk and sometimes more stuff in just 2 pockets!!

Hey! we have the right to not have the right to choose! come on! this is an advantage! we can blame our parents always :p

Wouldn't you give away the 'forever a child' status (where someone is always responsable for you, makes your choices for you etc..) for a life where you have to work as hard as a man, have responsabilities and burdens as much as a man but then also get rewarded/paid, esteemed and respected as much as a man?

I would rather be in control of what I do, where I go, what I wear and how much I spend than have a 'keeper' over me. I'd rather be responsible for my actions and retain my relative 'freedom'.

The way of life of a man, here, is not that different than that of his wife. Mostly, both work, share household duties, share childcare duties, and share their free time together. (The thing I couldn't get used to the most when I first went to Libya, was how I hardly ever got to see my husband unless it was dinner time or sleeping time. The man-woman segregation almost drove me crazy.)

Maybe once you are used to that way of life, it would be hard to imagine it any other way. I guess I definately feel that way.

I like being a girl. I don't call what I am 'opressed' or locked up or whatever. I choose to do a lot of things in my life, and my parents watch me and sometimes tell me not to and bla bla bla. They also look out for me and look after me, and to be honest I don't know how I could cope without my mom's amazing judgement lol! So bring on the opression ;)

Also I like pretty things, and you can get away with a lot more being a girl than you can being a guy (and I'm not talking in terms of sleazy activity).

Oh no trust me, guys wake up in the morning looking like sh!t too!

Look at it this way, at least if you had unibrows you can easily get them fixed. A guy can never get away with fixing his eyebrows without being referred to as gay. By being a girl you get to pamper yourself whenever and wherever! So now you're against pampering yourself? Man I love being a girl just cause of those manicure and pedicure sessions! I get to wear pink without being accused of being homo, and most importantly, we are not controlled by testosterone. If you were not that good looking or if you were having one of those "I'm ugly days", you can always enhance the way you look by applying make-up and whatnot, what would a not so good looking guy resort to? They don't have many options!

Plus, we always wax ourselves which gives you this inner feeling of being clean. And yes, we don't have hairy chests and backsides, that's another upside of being a girl.

Of course there are downsides of being a girl, for instance, not being able to stay out late etc etc

well, men do have more fun..not always :p
