just had that question in mind, sometimes students get so carried away during lectures, i know it cuz it happens alot with me :hyper:

so do u:
- always get distracted??
- sometimes get distracted?? depending on the lecture
- never get distracted??

i wanted to put a poll on this but didnt know how :mmhmm: :os

there's one time where i was really focused, but then the Dr drew some blacklines on a graph, and he kept saying the black lines represent this n that, if we shift the black lines this will happen, etc...

black lines are the name of my car's tail lights, so that was the 1st modification in my car, i bought blacklines! :p

umm, I cause distraction for other people in class, so i dont know how does it feel :p
I might be distracted though when i study at home sometimes for exams by comp, mobile, songs, tv .... etc lol

Always distracted, i draw in class . actually, i get inspired in class and write poems lols .. except in math i focus cuz it is a puzzle itself to me =P

I've never been focused in my Class more than 80% ..

It's hard for me to get distracted in a lecture, because there are no immature people who disturb the class or whisper or make funny noises. In school, it was different.

i never get distracted....i always used to sit in front and pay 100% attention....

I'm always text msging in class, but I don't really get distracted coz I listen and text at the same time :p

I always get distracted and wander A LOT! I also have an attention span of a flea so that's not helping either.

Distracted all the time, was so restless during my uni days.

Don't you hate it when ur daydreaming then suddenly realize u are not paying attention..then u think..what made me daydream abt (...) then u end up trying to remember what got u to think of that certain thing! lol !! it happens to me ALOT!

In some classes I used to concentrate, in other classes I was forced to concentrate out of fear (biology classes), and in other classes I used to either sleep, dream or draw (mostly Islamic and arabic classes)...

lol its annoying when u donnu wt they're talkin aboutn then they ask u about the thing they're talkin about xP

I used to be able to concentrate well in class! Enough to not even need to open my books before exams. I can’t concentrate anymore.. I haven’t this entire semester and my exams start this week.. hehe so I kind of have to go through entire books and teach myself everything in 3 days, what ppl have been learning for 12 weeks..

During high school days I used to solve math problems during certain Arabic/Islamic classes, if that's considered distraction

Sometimes I get distracted. If the subject interests me then I pay attention, if not then me & my friends start making distraction for the rest of the class! :p That's the school days ofcourse.

Back when i was in high school (last year:p) i used to always daydream in history class! it's soo boring and the teacher made it worse. The only classes i concentrated in were math and biology

come to think of it, i was always causing distractions during high school...

i used to sit in the second row in class and a good friend of mine sat right in front of my desk... i wanted to get his attention while the teacher was in front writing on the board. (just for the sake of it) so i tapped him on his right shoulder. when he looked right he was shocked to see my foot, right on his face. he busted out laughing... :D

sometimes when the whole class is laughing with the teacher and we dont find it cunning... we would make the laugh loud with random laughters and noises... once each student picked an animal... the whole class was full of "mooo" & "baaaa" barks and meows...

this all happened in high school...!!!

During school days a group of friends and I used to cause the distractions in class, I used to get kicked out of class in year 8 and 9 lool..

yah every one agrees that school was different, more noisy and more problematic :p


it happened to me more than once in Oman Civilization class, it was soooooooo boring, i sleep in class, and suddenly wake up 2 c that the Dr is staring at me! he was sooooooo pissed!

I am used to it...was trained

during my last year in high school...i used to study in my room against the loud T.V volume in the hall.. so when i went to college , i was trained not to be distracted...

In my case, its "sometimes get distracted?? depending on the lecture" and actually, the lecturer as well.

I get distracted, a lot in fact. I just can't keep concentrating a lot. It drives me crazy and gives me a headache.

It is weird how ideas just jump in your head in classes! I have to write them down in order not to forget them. It was different in high school though, I have always been distracted

hehe .. noo .. i do get a little distracted sometimes .. but once people see me being distracted .. they'll usually quit it

i do cause some distractions sometimes in class .. but i always try avioding being kicked out in class! :p .. i just refuse to get out sometimes! :p

For some unknown reason, I always concentrate 100% in all classes except Physics and Mathematics.
It's like I try so hard to focus 100% in Maths and Physics but I end up not concentrating at all :s.

I never get distracted because I never count on the class, I always go gome to understand the class by myself. I cannot pay attention in class....I tried but cannot! I keep thinking of everything even silly things! Yet, I would feel bad if I missed a class and rarely do I miss one!

90% of the time when I was at school .. I was always called up by the teacher to answer a question and I would be totaly blank!
At uni, I used to focus on the intresting lectures only .. and the boring one .. I wandered around the world in my mind :D

100 % am distracted with random thoughts , thanks to allah that it doesnt effect my results in the end.

We were the worst class in school. Distraction all the time. Making fun of each other, the teachers .. everything .. And I always daydream lol ..

Same in Uni, many distractions .. people talking etc .. and the daydreaming too

whenever i see myself getting distracted...i ask my lecturer a question..and it could be anything..even if not on da topic we on...just to get myself bak into the lecture...and it works for me...

and today the portofolio instructor was writing formulas like: all of that, plus infiniti over 1+k"

and every equation had infiniti in it :os

I get distracted sometimes.
It depends on my mood really... If I am in the mood to do anything I will get distracted and listen to everyone talkling...
or draw something stupid or think about someone..

I always get distracted in lectures lol. but sometimes the lecturer shouts loudly when he's presenting so in this case I have to focus. And also I take a nap during the lecture ;)

If a lesson is boring I start doodling on my notes, or I daydream.

I rarely get distracted. I am there, physically, mentally and emotionally jotting down points or whatever the lecturer is saying. If I don't understand what they are saying, then I will try to. During the 10 minute break in the lecture, I can talk, check my phone and do the stuff I want to do. If I don't, I know I will flunk out!

School is a different issue all together :p

I can easily get distracted in lectures.. I get less distracted in maths lectures because i write and copy alot of stuff during those lectures. I take a nap in chemistry lectures because i always know that the lecturer is gonna bore me to death.

same here, specially 1 called (oman and islamic civilization), OMG that was a sleeping class!

Depends on the day, the number of missed calls/txts, the class, and the amount of sleep i've had the night before!!

Skoool was even worse i remember i always used to sleep during bio classes or day dream or talk to ma classmates in other lessons i never ever used to concentrate!! :yell: all worked out well in the end which is a miracle!!

ahahah that happened to me once in my englishh....sometimes the teacher's voice are sooo boring that just puts you to sleep :P

i get distracted sometimes depending on the lectures....some of my lectures are so boring that i tune off and go to my la la land where everything is peaceful and not realistic.

Depends on the lecturer really. I can get distracted easily if the lecturer is boring. I end up drawing, listening to my mp3, or txting. Which is really bad. But i never depend on lecturers unless they're really good at explaining...so it's alright i guess.:think:

There was one lecturer...who has the same boring tone (that kinda puts you to sleep) who kept talking and explaining all through a 2 HOUR LECTURE...and it was late in the afternoon, everybody wants to go home bcos their brains have shut down. You'd think he'll let us go early. I kept saying in my head, any minute now...he's gonna feel sorry for us and let us go...BUT...NO he keeps going and going trying to teach us more than one subject at once. Half the class was sleeping and I wanted to cry :cry: and i was also ANGRY :angry:. After the lecture i went straight to Pen_it_Black and (God bless her...tried to calm me down :shy:) started complaining to her...and i think i almost teared. Lol!

The worst, most boring lecture of my life.

i always do! its soo hard for me to concentrate.. but when im intrested in what the prrof is saying.. id be all ears..

I always get distracted and the main cause of distraction is myself.

I dont get distracted in class i distract the class!...when everyone is so focused and the class is so quiet i'll be the first one to burst out laughing very loudly ..

I just take a look at the class and how everyone is listening the scene is so perfect i just have to ruin it :p
