May 9, 2007 - The Wii isn't known just yet for its vast array of 3D fighters. And surprisingly, that's not going to change even with the announcement of Soul Calibur Legends for the system. Namco has plans to bring the popular series to the Wii, but in an entirely different way than expected.

First appearing in this week's issue of Famitsu, Legends is described as an action adventure game rather than a fighter. Set in the 16th century, players will be able to meet characters from the Soul Calibur world and experience sword-based combat that makes use of the Wiimote.

Famitsu was able to unveil nothing more than a logo for the game and did not even provide a release date. We presume this means a release is a ways off.

I really hope Link is in it. After his appearance in soul calibur 2 he was awesome and really made the series popular compared to the other special guests in the other platforms.

I am interested in the game but so far the screens have yet to appear.. plus i hope it doesn't become like virtua fighter's virtua quest.. that was horrible..

I'm looking forward to play Nightmare in this edition.
