Based on one of the posts around here, do any of you guys believe that videogames is linked with violence? and why? Do you think ratings should be enforced or just let it be lenient since most parents nowadays think all games are just "kiddy"?

games are just like movies
you check the game's content like you check the movie's contents
voilence is vital to movies and also vital to some games
like can you imagine watching troy without the violence it had !?
n i cant believe that ill ask this but can you imagine playing GTA without the violence !? (VIOLENCE should be the new name of GTA ! :p )
i dunno why SOME people act like babies n wine that games these days has too much violence ! :)

If someone ONLY plays violent games then Yes I am sure it's bound to effect him negatively in one way or another, but if people mix it up, harmless cartoony games with some violent ones then that should be alright.

I wasn't allowed to play violent games when I was a kid. So I wouldn't know. I used to think it was just a load of BS so parents can have something to blame.

But seeing my 4 yr old daughter's behaviour after she's seen an episode of power rangers made me make the decision to not allow it anymore.

Now after a certain time, she's not allowed to watch tv. If it was a video game, I would throw it away and replace it with something that can give her something better.

I always wondered why some people are very strict about nudity around children, but then not about violence and gore.

i think it effects children and adults some times there's games which makes the child act the same like GTA or Manhunt 1 and part 2 in the way i dunno is violence makes ppl feel better these days that make the child dream a nightmare . but with cartoonish games he can make his own world with flowers or funny things or even his own sweet world but some kids keep shouting and his behaviour gets nasty specially when he reach the teenage period...the problem now days games shows the game more reality which makes him feel in a way it's a real thing blood , head shot , injuries...etc ( some kids enjoy to look at these things or to make them suffer )

even i've read somewhere that a kid 12 years old wanted to practice wrestling in another kid which accidently took the other kid life and he got about 25 years in prison if i'm not wrong.....

some games makes the world worse , some make it beautiful and some makes you wounder if there is a world like that !

big huge effect! my sister (17) played warriors for awhile and then she started swearing all the time! :os and geing all gangster-like ..she used to let my cousin who is far younger than her play along..but i've constantly yelled at her lol..it's just too much violence for kids and adults as well..i personally find such games really pointless..ugh and the GTA games..my god! :bored:
