So we're finally in the nex gen where all 3 consoles have been launched everywhere around the globe. Xbox 360 has the majority of the market share, PS3 has some smooth graphics, and Wii has been all over the news because of its controller..

What do you think of this generation of gaming so far? I'm quite starting to lose interest in gaming if all the developers are going to launch the same games that we have seen year after year.. I give kudos to nintendo for innovating the games by how you control them, but sadly it seems that 3rd party developers aren't able to fully grasp it and instead prefer to get an old game and port it to the wii and slap some tilt controllers..

what do you guys think?

I prefer the old super mario nintendo games :D

I personally don't know, basically because I haven't tried one of them yet... but hopefully soon enough I will, the games on each console seem promising.
I'm looking forward to play some games that would leave a print on history !
Such as FF, MGS, Other new games, RE, SMB, LOZ. ...etc

I'm not exactly hopeful about the controls ... but since i haven't tried this generations new releases... i can't base my judgement on them yet...

as for the games... the only negative point today's games have is that they're not as deep and endless as the games before.

The only one that interests me and looks like something that I can enjoy is the Wii , the rest are just not my cup of tea.

actually i think that today's games are somewhat deep and could take 100 hours or more.. the only sad thing is, its ridiculously easy.. compared to the games of the good ol days, these games are actually easy.. I still go back to the old games and still get my *** kicked.. try ninja gaiden 1, 2 or 3 on NES.. (wouldn't matter they're all harder than each other :XD: ) i'll guarantee you'll fail :p

I prefer easier games..I hate getting stuck and end up getting frustrated and forgetting about the game completely. Not too easy of course..just something that won't make me want to smash the console would do. ;p

I have a Wii at home, When I went back in easter I never even touched it. Winning eleven only :D

lol hard games were awesome back in the day. It was because it was short they made the games harder to make gamers play and play again.. practice made perfect.. now today's games have tutorials... lol lol one of my hardest games was certainly contra.. and it took ages to finish especially with my bro playing co-op..

one thing that disappointed me though, was a recent review of Sonic and the secret rings for the wii where they said one negative point was it was "too hard and it required trial and error to pass the level.." seriously wut the fudge was that.. I think there's a difference between hard and just impossible because of glitches.. for example you have ET for the atari 2600 and thats just impossible to finish mainly because of the many glitches it had.. Sonic and the secret rings however is hard because it needs practice..

..seriously, gamers these days don't realise that if you finish a game in hard mode, the reward and satisfaction is much greater than finishing a game on easy.

Wii - all they care about is their stupid remote n letting your grandpa play with you n dont really care about quality of games
X360 - all they care about is their online service n dont really care about quality of games
PS3 - all they care about is blu-ray n the system barely has any games

so in the end i honestly hate ALL of them
BUT the Wii seems to be the best coz they care about simplistic games
X360 has the most quality games n are starting to even have exclusive j-rpgs like Blue Dragon n Lost Odyssey in the future
PS3,just look at the CURRENT games collection so far most of them are originaly for the x360 like FEAR n RAINBOW SEX VEGAS
n they are losing exclusives,like GTA4 n DMC4 n RE5 will all be released on the X360 also
it DOES have a number of exclusives but not much right now
only MGS4 n FF13 might be able to save it (i dont want to get it but i WILL when they release FF13)
but it seems like NINTENDO took their crown back from sony,n the x360 is developing into more of a console for shooters n has a very wide selection of of games including japanese games which it lacked in the past

^The wii is nintendo's new console. The only difference between it and the other 2 consoles is its controller. The controller is shaped like a remote control which is motion sensitive. Imagine holding it as a tennis racket, golf club or a gun. In the case of tennis, when the ball comes, instead of pushing a button, all you do is swing the controller.
