As we all know the story or let's assume the prediction of the indian guy about a tsunami type wave is going to hit Oman etc..

The story went in Oman and spreaded very fast, I guess if it was measured it would be faster than the speed of the sound.. anyway!!

Personally I think a tsunami really did hit Oman but in another form. The tsunami that hit Oman was the mental one!! How on earth a propaganda from nowhere was able to shake the whole country!! a country that is considered to have a good ratio of educated people and open minded people!!

I wonder what is the use of the forecasting services in Oman?? what is the use of having an emergency services?? what is the use of having a police-force?? are not these people will be the first one who will let us know if there will be a tsunami or not!!! or the indian guy has more technology!!

And this scenario was not the first one!! I believe all of us know about the Rustaq Ghost or beast or whatever!! GOD!! how fast that spam went so quick between the people not just in Oman but in the whole gulf area!! and at the end it turned to be some stupid prank!!

All these stuff just will add more and more bad reputations of the country in general and about the people in specific!! I guess the idea of Oman or Buhla is the magic city!! Also it shows how contradicting we are!! if we believe that we have omani magician and super-powered people!! how come they did not predict the omani tsunami!! what a laugh!!

A very recognised person from the government when he heard of this tsunami propaganda, instead of makin sure if this thing is right or wrong and makin his family comfortable and try to not spread this among his family, he went to school and took his kids!! for god-sake, what kind of mentality he got!! I do not think such people should represent the country!!

Finally I hope this mental tsunami to be overcame soon!! enough of the frightened old people and kids!! enough of frightened wives asking their husbands to leave muscat!! enough of the faulty news n propaganda !!

Well lets say they was a Tsunami, an unpredited one. Should'nt the goverment have a plan B ? As far as I know, there's no plan being made in a case where a Tsunami actually hits Oman.

Well it would have been good excuse for husbands to spend the nights out ;)..
J/k aside !Yet again if you think about it , it could be an alarm to our system to face any natures distractions . The question that comes to my mind How well prepared are we to face such thing? Do we have a Plan if such things or any thing similar like that happens in Oman God forbids ....

Bu Tayma you are right in this matter to some extent, that people should not believe every thing they hear :-)), but this shows that Omanies doesn't trust the governement to warn them as every other third world country.
They have the right to not trust them, cuz when you are living in a country where the country covers every thing seriouse from the people.
Second, I also don't blaim the governement totaly, they particepated in it, but sometimes they have to cover things up.
If for example what happened far east, if their governement told them before hand the citizen , emagin what will happen, caiouse (FAWTHA), many people will die by only knowing the truth.
third sometimes the governements in some countries, just can't handle the finanacial expensses associated of such desasters, so they had to secrfice some people lifes for the greater good ( as they believe ). I dont say this is right, but they won't tell you this, cuz they won't be able to rule the country any more................

if you want to know how a wear the people here,,,,,,did any one read about what should they do in case it really happenes :-/, I didn't do it yet, I guess I should even read it even if it was fals alarm " to be save then sorry " :-))
