Was just done today (from man and the environment) watching a movie made by Al Gore... formerly was the other choice to being president except Bush was chosen instead. In any case that is not my subject here. >> After Al Gore didn't make it he changed his whole life into the scientific direction and made some tests on Global Warming today.
Members, from the film i saw today, and those are very recent results... the changes are enormous in which i think every human being should take into accord. It is a very recent film and the uni was lucky enough to bring it here.
statistics that've been shown according to the test results:
-at the length of around 60 000 years the temperature scale of global warming has never exceeded over 300 except twice and by little. During our last decade the result of the graph went far beyond that way over 500... last year shown was 2005.
-another cause for more demands is the population rising from only 2 billion in the world to 6 billion in a very short time... it is concluded that by 50 years time the population will rise upto 9 billion. (that includes higher demands of food and more pressure on the earth's resources)
-Carbon dioxide levels are growing exceedingly higher during these decades more than ever before... and it is trapping more sun rays causing further global warming.
-though some scientists before denied that this was actually happening to that extent... out of a number over 900 scientists now a days... no one denies it anymore. The changes are clear... according to the movie>>
Glaciers have been melting in Alaska, some polar bears were found to have drowned due to not finding glaciers or Ice to hop onto... and it is again concluded that parts of America will be flooded in a matter of a few decades.
- the movie mentioned something regarding politics vs. science. Due to political issues... some believed that "people do not want to believe scientists because their salaries depends on them not believing it"
Since I don't remember the names of accurate examples of places where glaciers have melted, will bring in resources soon enough.
But this is just as an alert... that things are getting serious.
>>almost makes me wonder why that indian claims to have predicted there'll be a flood in Oman :XD: ... perhaps the weather forcast might've mentioned it.
oh well... your views on this.
