View Full Version : Why is it easier?
Endure Whisper 26-04-07, 11:08 PM Why is it, at most times, so easy to break up than to say I love you!?
In Tiny Heart's thread (Saying 143 First), so many were scared of taking the risk of saying "I love you" to their partners when I am sure when it comes down to breaking up, they wouldn't mind being the one who does it..
So what is it that makes people sooo uncomfortable opening up and showing their feelings, but yet very relieved to break up!? Why is it easier to be rude and mean more than nice and sweet?!

Libellula 26-04-07, 11:17 PM It's just not easy for most people to put themseleves in a situation where they become vulnerable. Most find it easier to hurt someone else than to be hurt.
Cos you are blinded by the new relationship that's why you consider that person as part of the past :os "Love Is Blind"

LOL, in general, I have the reverse problem! I hate putting people down and love spreading love! (It's just Middle Eastern men particularly when you cannot really spread the love that easily! Better till I am married for that :6: )
for me its hard to say "I love you" because I only say it when I mean it, but it's 10 times harder to break up.. In a relationship I face hundreds of reasons that make people break up but I try to avoid it as much as possible.. One thing I don't tolerate and break up once it happens is when I don't see myself in the picture; when the "gf" or the girl am supposed to marry, the gurl who is supposed to be my soul mate, still thinks of another person, an ex or something like that, when that happens, I know that, for her, I'm nothing but a tool to get over him, so I end it immediatly..
so nope, its not easier to me

Saying I love you could mean losing a great friend. Too much risk. But breaking up is easy because you are forced to do it. You are either feeling betrayed, shocked and feel realy bad .. or..you just dont have feelings for that person anymore
Breaking up is just following your instincts.
LosT_SouL 04-05-07, 12:35 PM I think people fear REJECTION . U don't want to be hurt. Also U don't want
to ruin a nice relationship with tht person .. Not only rejection, PAIN that could result of the rejection ..
If U really love someone, it is because U care about them a lot.
And that mean U value Ur relationship with them so U don't want to lose them. U never know if s/he feels the same way you do. It means U love them
more than U love Urself so U care more in not losing them .
The minute U say it, it can change your life for better or for worse.
..... :):):) .....
Then After breaking up .. ppl regret it always..
why it happend? i wish i did this..i wish i've done that..
human's nature..
i think people dont use their mind in such situations..they dont think..they just ask for a break up because both side will think that OMG everything is over..but i'm sure he/she will come back and say sorry..one day..then one week then a month then years..
then depression

Oblivious 08-05-07, 02:15 PM To me, I think breaking up is HARDER than saying I love you :os
Why is it, at most times, so easy to break up than to say I love you!?
Because it accompanied with excitement & makes you think about how your future partner is going to be, sometimes there is a happiness deep within that at last you are getting rid of the same boring partner
Looking forward to a new experience is refreshing
Stick to one when you get married, till then use as many as you can
Superbia 08-05-07, 03:37 PM Saying I love you means future, but breaking up makes him history.
To Me, I don't know lol cuz I never experienced both lol.
but when I say something, I make sure I mean it.
